Ifanse is hurt

Mellott did some damage. Will be interesting to see what the Cats dial up. Do they use him on the option for most of the game of just a change of pace.

In the past, they run it as a change of pace, but this game they ran it WAY more!! Not sure why. Offense really struggled in this game. Defense played well, but QB for Idaho gave us trubble with his running...Not sure why. It was just a frustrating game. Ifanse will be fine next week.

Damnit - never like hearing of injuries. Maybe just a precaution to keep him out? Kid is an absolute dude. I still think he's the front-runner for Big Sky MVP.
He was in street clothes on crutches on the broadcast. Maybe that's the case, but apparently it sounded/looked bad. Hoping he's okay, regardless of how you feel about the game this next weekend.
Apparently the person they showed on TV might not have been Ifanse??? They were talking about him when he was shown on TV, but my cat friend told me it wasn't him. My bad, if that wasn't him.

It wasn't him. Believe it was Davis, our Back-up. Was in a boot at the end of the game.

Prepare for Ifanse (as best we can). Mellott is a very quick and very smart guy - he can run (and he can throw). We will have our hands full. Our defense will do it’s job. I’m more worried about offensive production. Northern AZ made our ground game look pretty paltry. MSU will be a much better defense.

O line still not healthy. Going to be tough to run the ball given the injury status of certain players. Get some backs healthy and the line is dinged up. Just one of those years.

Definitely. It’s just hard to watch a struggling run game after 2019 with Knight and Ostmo. But we gotta find something extra on offense to win this weekend.

Merlot scares me. Even though he’s a freshman, he’s a Butte kid so he’s probably been running from the cops since he was 6.

good post Ursa

Merlot scares me. Even though he’s a 21-year old freshman, he’s a Butte kid so he’s probably been running from the cops since he was 3.5.

There are posters here who firmly believe Bobby has been vanilla all year JUST to be able to spring all the trickery on the ‘scats on Saturday….

Ifanse will definitely play on Saturday, he's about as tough as they come. Tons of respect for him, not sure I've ever seen a running back break more tackles from just sheer effort.

Despite how good our D has been Ifanse is a man among boys on the gridiron. His ability to get to the second level of the D is unparalleled, and with our scheme it is almost a given he is at the second level on every run. It will be a battle.

I hope he can play Saturday kid is a stud.
When I heard he was hurt I thought it was bad karma for the cat fan that sent Frank G the email saying he hoped Anderson broke Robby Haucks femor in the Brawl.

I have no doubt Ifanse will be ready Saturday. He's as tough as they come, but he hasn't played against a defense this good.

Weber is a good if not better defense. So yeah he has played against one.

I watched bits and pieces of the cat game today and they suffered some potentially big injuries.

1. starting QB left with an apparent injury or possibly due to being ineffective but didn’t play again
2. Ifanse left and didn’t return
3. 2nd string RB left and was the one shown on the sidelines. He is super fast and electric with the ball.
4. Starting Right Tackle left with what appeared to be a bad leg injury.
5. Backup LB #30 ejected in 2nd half due to targeting and will miss first half against Griz.

Impressed by the overall class shown on the board. Honestly some good dudes over here.

I think both offenses struggle, the team that can sustain drives and avoid three and outs/ turnovers wins. I also expect both fan bases will get to experience a great game and atmosphere next week.
