I Like QB Britt

Maybe Britt just likes to take off and run all the time and can't accurately read a defense. Maybe that's why he's 3rd string. All of it is speculation. Only the coaches know why and they aren't going to tell any of you.. lmao

Well, he’s 6/7 (85% completion) passing for 66 yards (10.1 yards/completion) with 0 INT’s and 0 TD’s in his limited appearances, which would imply that he’s pretty good at taking what the defense gives him. He has 10 carries this year, for a net of 34 yards (3.4/carry). He was 3rd leading rusher Saturday in 13 offensive snaps, which would imply that when he DOES “take off and run” he does a pretty good job of making something out of it. For contrast, Brown has 23 carries for 17 net yards (0.7 ypc). Brown has a 55% completion rate, with 0 INT’s but just 1 TD pass in 65 pass attempts (8.7 yards per completion).

I’m not trying to be a dick, but at what point does it make sense for coaches to look at ACTUAL production and say “maybe this guy ain’t the answer”?

I would say next season would be his chance, unless Johnson and Brown go down, or Johnson goes down and Brown starts throwing picks. The coaches have said that playing a top 5 team is not the time to experiment.

I’m 100% certain next year’s starter isn’t currently on the roster.

The topic was when will Britt play, not who will be the starter next season.

The time to experiment is at practice against the #1defense in the BSC and arguably one of the best in the nation. I will say the coaches have done that, but that is an assumption. From both QB’s body of work, presence on the field and ability to scramble - I would like to see more Britt. Will be interesting to watch this weeks game if the Griz get a substantial lead.

Well, if next year’s starter isn’t on the roster, that would imply Brown and Britt will be 2 & 3, in some order behind someone else (not discounting Abbott here)…which would mean that unless Britt is given some opportunity he’s not currently getting, it won’t be next year either.

I don't agree with that. Britt will be a better and more experienced qb by this spring and next fall.

Yet according to you they were willing to experiment with a kid with one good hand that hasn't played QB at all since he got here? You stated you saw them in practice using Bergen in a true QB role, not just the wildcat. Something doesn't make sense.

It shows that the coaches had more confidence in Bergen than Britt, in that role. Bergen is a much better runner than Britt. Britt is fine, but Bergen has a full season at being a runner for UM. Bergen could have thrown, and has thrown this year. Britt is obviously a better thrower. What doesn't make sense is your not understanding that experience playing in college football and for the Griz, means something, especially with the coaches. Do you really not understand that?

So experience as a running back and receiver means he's a better QB than Daniel Britt who's been working in the role for two years now and was the scout team player of the year? Why don't you just admit Bergen was in specifically to run the wildcat? You are literally making no sense. Maybe they should have let Gubner be the qb. According to your logic he'd be way better than Britt because he has more experience playing college football.

Didn't this poster take a long hiatus from posting, because he was butt-hurt over some lady Griz BB issue? Got to think the board was a better place during that time.

Nope, he just changed his posting name a couple times. The board needs its top posters. The poster RoseyMustGo needs to go.

The fact that you consider yourself a top poster is hilarious but by all means, keep on pulling stuff out of your ass

I don't agree with that. Britt will be a better and more experienced qb by this spring and next fall.

How will he be more experienced if he never gets the chance to gain experience?

It’s quite the conundrum.

How's your sense of humor?

Seriously - I will be more upset if Britt enters the portal than I would be if Brown does.
I think Britt has way more upside.

Brown ain’t going anywhere. Unless it’s to an NAIA school.

This guy is hilarious, but also pathetic. Have you ever met a more self-absorbed dick-head in your life? He not only thinks he can decide who posts on this site, but his constant use of the "I-word" in every post is tiring. Name dropping. Condescending comments to other posters. Typical example of a big fish in a small pond booster, who thinks his monetary contribution to the program gives him special rights. I'm sure that Hauck has to humor him to keep the donations flowing, but tries to run every time he comes around.

Another one.
