I know this may be blasphemous but…

I'm not telling most of you something that you don't know, but the Griz need to get back to fielding great offensive lines if they want to get their offense playing on the Cats' level.

I love Mellott. I think he's a stud. But the offensive front makes it easy on him much of the time. If you look at some of the lanes he was running through on the outside against W&M, you'll see what I mean. The OL is great on the move and the auxiliary blockers seal as good as anyone in the country.

From the outside, that's been the biggest surprise to me about Hauck's return is that the OL's in Missoula haven't really returned to form. Seems to me like they used to be his calling card.

I don't know if it's just a random streak of bad luck, of if it has anything to do with big men preferring to come to MSU because of their style of offense, or...?

UM had first and third team all-conference players. The Cats had second and third team conference players. The Cat o-line was good, in the offense they run.

That shows how bad some of these all Conference picks were. The Cats offensive lineman have been the best by far in the conference.

Yes,someone like Tommy Mellot.

Tommy wasn't durable last season. Luck of the draw. One wrong twist and IW loses by 50+. People kid themselves when they beat their chests about how great their teams are...while QB1 is healthy. Name an NFL team in the top tier who would still be in the top tier if QB1 went down. I'll wait.

But that's irrelevant...

So my post didn’t age well…

SF in fact had its no. 1 quarter for most of the season. I NDSU wasn't going to cut it. He saved face by getting hurt and not having to get replaced. Jimmy G. was better and a long-time starter. The NFL isn't relevant to college in this respect anyway.

Oh boy Hoops! Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant in the last draft. Come on, keep up will you?

Take a breath and think about why that poster might be posting.

Ok. What the fuck is this. I’ve seen it now in about six different threads.

Ok. What the [#]f### is this. I’ve seen it now in about six different threads.

My non professional assumption is that Sask is calling PR a troll and wanting to argue for the sake of an argument. I gather that mostly from my previous experiences with PR.

I only play a doctor on television myself, but I suspect the same. Seems like a similarly obnoxious group of cat trolls got the heave-ho recently. What’s the holdup? Or is turning the other cheek all one can do?

49ers, until their 2nd 1 went down.

Yes SF would be the only answer, although in reality they had QB1 and QB1A as well as a top defense so they’re the outlier.

Otherwise anyone suggesting that a team — any team — doesn’t suffer a dramatic decline without their QB1 on the field is a complete idiot or a cat fan (apologies for the redundancy).

I didn't notice a drop off when Chambers played in place of Tommy.

The Cats lost Mellott for virtually all of three games this season. They went 3-0 and scored 116 total points.

Had the Cats had only the no. 3 qb and not Chambers, the Cats wouldn't have been 3-0. Good for the Cats, but a starting level qb is very important to winning against top competition. Both Cat QB's are starter level. I am surprised at how many Griz fans don't understand that.

Yes, Bobby and the staff made a major error in evaluating their QBs. Turned what could have been a great season into unmet expectations.

Yes. It’s worse to be on your 3rd stringer than your backup.

Salient point.
