The griz were hanging with NDSU until they hurt him... it's not that far out there. Football is a momentum game and when your star qb goes down, it's a killer. LJ was head n shoulders above any other qb on the starter, he made our offense work. The score at least would have been very different with LJ in.

Bill and Karen is the best the CAA has to offer. At this point, there are five big sky teams and four MVC teams...everyone else blows. The big sky and MVC are the Big 10 and SEC of the FCS. Everyone else competes for participant trophies.

I would bet 10k that NAU would beat Bill and Karen.

I wouldn't go that far, but I'd bet UM, Idaho, UC Davis, Weber and Sac (and maybe PSU) all beat them.

On a related note, Sac is super lucky they missed the cats this year.

Not sure about that. I think Sac would be a tough matchup for the Cats. The Cats' secondary and pass rush is $hit and the Cats have never had to play from behind. IMO, the Cats have lucked out with their upcoming matchup with SDSU. The teams seem to mirror one another. IW and SDSU are TERRIBLE matchups for MSU. They have the ability to score in bunches but the Cats have never really had to play from behind (once in the first matchup with weebs, but WSU didn't have an offense that could put a team away...). If I were NDSU I would be worried. IW has some spunk.

I was impressed with him. Very fun to watch. Seemed to play with an edge and had some words after a lot of plays.

Also makes me excited to see what Tommy and Chambers can do Saturday.

Against NDSU we didn't have a good back-up QB much like the Griz this year. Vigen fixed that with Sean Chambers. Not much of a drop off if any with him.

I'm not telling most of you something that you don't know, but the Griz need to get back to fielding great offensive lines if they want to get their offense playing on the Cats' level.

I love Mellott. I think he's a stud. But the offensive front makes it easy on him much of the time. If you look at some of the lanes he was running through on the outside against W&M, you'll see what I mean. The OL is great on the move and the auxiliary blockers seal as good as anyone in the country.

From the outside, that's been the biggest surprise to me about Hauck's return is that the OL's in Missoula haven't really returned to form. Seems to me like they used to be his calling card.

I don't know if it's just a random streak of bad luck, of if it has anything to do with big men preferring to come to MSU because of their style of offense, or...?
