Missionaries dont have 24 7 access to the gym while they are on missions. In fact they have very few freedoms. Maybe they ride a bike or do a lot of walking but most have access to cars now.
Statements like yours do nothing to hide your ignorance
No one said anything about these kids only being in a gym when they are on missions. But I can assure you they’re not just sitting around eating bon bons either. They are maturing, growing, exercising and getting life experiences. All good things in my view. But if you really don’t think anything advantageous occurs when the come back to compete and are 5+ years older than some kids we’re putting on the field I don’t think you’re being honest with yourself.
And it’s not like it’s every person on all of your squads. But I’ve seen personally some players of yours over the years who were men amongst boys.
What EG said was not ignorant at all in my view. With all due respect I’d make the argument that it is MORE ignorant to suggest that having 23-25 year old men gives no advantage.
Thanks ILTC. My response could not have been better. While I certainly have seen LDS missionaries return in far greater physical shape — yes, some of them played for Weber — the maturity that happens those years is far more than physical. One simply needs to ask themselves if they were the same person at 25 they were at 22.
It's why BYU barely has room for more championship banners, and Weber has been dominant for decades in the BSC...
