Griz to burn Counts Redshirt.

Canada did not play in the second half. I'm guessing that hanstring is bothering him. Another reason to have Counts ready.
No. No it's not.

We’re trying to redshirt him, but at the same time you have to do what you do to give yourself the best opportunity to win.
My ass you're trying to redshirt him, you didn't have to play him but you did.

If delaneycan figure out a way to always kick off and never receive a kick, we won't need any running backs...

IMO, playing Counts today was Delaney's dumbest coaching decision to date...and he's had a lot. We didn't need to play Counts when we were up by 23, especially when we have Kirschner.
Delaney's dumbest coaching decision to date - That is saying allot. :thumb:

+1 Fahque...#4 is playing well...no need right now to have done that today. But the Griz need the best players on the field. :?

If Canada is having hamstring issues and Moore is out for awhile (high ankle sprain could be rest of the year), then using Counts makes sense, but give him some meaningful reps then.

I don't know the percentage of players that last five years in a program, but I bet it's pretty low. I think there are a lot of factors that go into this decision, most of which us couch coaches have no clue about.

I think coaches have the mindset they are more likely than not to have four years with a guy, not five, so they are playing the odds somewhat when they bring a guy off redshirt status.

I also think that if you have confidence in your recruiting, you expect there will be another Joey Counts or whoever to come along in the next few years. Heck, a year ago Nelo Butler was the next great Griz running back on this board.
