That is Michigan’s entire game. It’s gonna be successful a few times a game.
Yes, but when most of those breakdowns come from 1 player, it lets the whole team down. Everybody will play solid defense for 20 seconds and he’ll lose his man. Timmy did it once, Mike did it once, Bobby did it 4 times. Also got back doored twice. He let the entire team down with his play today.

Yep, you nailed it...all Bobby's fault.
Never said it was all his fault. I said he let his teammates down. They all had expectations to compete. Kinda tough to do it with an offensive liability who has a shi**y defensive game.

You mean the guy that was the leading rebounder and had 4 of the teams 8 steals?

What game were you watching? Bobby led the defensive intensity in this game with multiple steals, and some great rebounding against a guy 8 inches taller than him. Go back to Bozeman.

Watch the game back. Watch his defensive rotations. Don’t judge a game by the stats. The steals led to nothing. He did absolutely nothing in this game but become the laughing stock of Twitter for the night. Stop being an apologist. Being a good defender in the Big Sky is one thing, being a good defender on the national stage is another. He gave up way to many easy buckets for those 4 steals to be worth it.

He had a few bright spots on D, but the missed rotations led to a Matthews dunk, a Livers 3, and 2 Teske lay ins. He does his job, and then loses focus and drifts off, and Michigan just swings the ball and finds the man he drifts off of.

That is Michigan’s entire game. It’s gonna be successful a few times a game.

No one else’s! Just Bobby’s! Not the fault of poor 3 point shooting! Going against a team with huge inside guys! All Bobby’s fault! Shame, shame, shame!

How about is it too much to ask to just be remotely competitive?
Honestly no, and that’s just the truth. It’d take a real special night to even be in a game like this. Don’t get me wrong I always think we can win a game like this going in and then the game is played and I’m reminded it’s unlikely.

Why does it happen with regularity for other 12-15 seeds then? Why is it ALWAYS a blowout for us?
It is pretty embarrassing to be on a national stage and get blowout but what would you be happy with in this type of game?

Competitiveness?

Oh, well if TWITTER thinks he sucked, then by all means, I’ve changed my opinion.

He was far from the only kid with a missed dunk anyways.

I know they aren't core rotation guys but why not try Kramer or Anderson? Reps would be good at least.

I watched with a couple of friends that played in the NIT when it was relevant and they said the same thing. They both wondered why Anderson, a tall guy with an improving game did not get into the game until it was over and even then scored 3 pts. He and Kramer should have played more if only to make Michigan's big man work a bit...UM was a decided underdog for many but I thought they would either win or lose by a couple points. The game was not coached nor played well by UM, again in the tournament, but they gave all they had and what more can you demand.

Morehead was a bright spot on this bunch tonight. I think he will be missed next year as much as this year Fab was missed.

Well, sh!t. The Michigan D caused a lot of this, but we definitely let the big stage affect us and we shot like shit. These guys will unfortunately remember this as a disappointment, but I am proud of them and how they played against adversity all year. Unfortunately, we needed Akoh for this game and Idaho made sure that didn't happen. At least a foul was called on that play. Oh, wait...

The bummer of it all is that at the beginning of the year I truly thought this was a Griz team that was going to do something special this year....not get embarrassed in the tournament again.

I hoped they would too but they showed all year it wasnt likely. We have to absolutely pound everyone in our conference and win just about every OOC game. A team like that can be competitive. A team, for whatever reason, who loses twice to PSU etc is not ready to suddenly turn it on against a top Big 10 team in the tourney.

I am looking forward to the guys coming in and on the bench. Honestly I think we might be quite a bit better in 2 years than we are now. Do need to find a some stars for the 4 and 5 positions. Mack certainly may be one of them. Needs some experience against some big time 4/5’s and put on some muscle. I think he is more athletic than most 6’9” guys we have had in the past.

He should have played a lot tonight along with Kramer. Because the did not see the floor for nearly the entire game, Michigan big men had a freeway to the basket.

I watched the game. You obviously didn't or don't understand the game. Moorehead played well on D. He had 4 steals. Steals come from defense. Yes, the steals ended Michigan possessions and were stops, and each resulted in another Griz offensive possession.

I see that you were almost immediately dissing Moorehead when you joined egriz last fall. Ax to grind? Also dissing the Griz for lacking intensity in January. Saying Travis would never leave for Cal. Jeez, he used to coach there and was a finalist for the head job there 5 years ago.

Michigan complimented iz Griz D.

“They’re a great defensive team. We had a couple of silly turnovers. Give credit to their pressure,” Teske said about Montana. “We knew coming in that might be a problem and we coughed it up a little bit. But we were talking about sometimes this is the toughest game to kind of get over and to get this one under our belt feels good.”

Added Matthews: “This weekend always seems to be the toughest, for all teams, just the nerves of the tournament. Montana is a great team being able to switch their positions and they present defensive challenges, and they were definitely tough on the floor. But we were able to win.”

Stop being an a$$h**e. Your knowledge of what he contributed serious shows a lack of understanding of the game.
