Wish the Griz would recruit more of the Dakotas and Midwest, kids have great work ethic. Coach Germer will produce a great line next year. Defense needs to improve, the old saying goes Defense wins Championships !

If Stitt can tap the Omaha market and the state of Nebraska, we would get a lot of hard working players. They are either farm boys or kids looking to get out of some bad areas of Omaha (north Omaha especially). A lot of good kids from military families are there too.

I'd LUV to see a connection (other than myself) between Montana & Nebraska.

It would be great to "steal" from some of the MVC.

The Omaha area has several on the teams of NDSU, SDSU, SD ...

They love to hate Bo Pelini @ Youngstown State all over NE.

I know there is a good QB at Bellevue West (NE) looking for a home on the next level.

But people dont think Stitts twitter game..and bond with this generation will help in recruiting.....at least thats what half of egriz was saying 6 months ago!

MIdwest is a tough place for anyone from the Big Sky to tap into. You've the the MAC, MVFC, and Big 10 right in their back yard. I could see us getting into Nebraska though, that's Stitt's old stomping grounds. Plus, Nebraska is basically just a super-sized Montana. Dominant in the 90's, currently in a funk, and a big rural population that loves football.

We have really started to tap into Nebraska the last few years and have gotten some gems. Current starters from husker state include QB Stick, MLB DeLuca and WR Urzendowski. Also a Rfr Jalen Allison at corner will start next year. If Stitt doesn't try and tap into Nebraska with his connections I would be shocked! Congrats on your 2016 Class!......We have a nice one coming in as well.

One thing I thought Stitt would bring to the table would be the ability to compete in NDSU's recruiting territory.

It is still early to know just where our new coach will focus his recruiting efforts. Yet I certainly don't see why he'd focus on Minnesota or Wisconsin. It is possible just don't see why he would look that way since we never really have except for a random kid here and there.

I'd expect Stitt doesn't have a specific territory he will focus on since Montana has a much bigger horizon than the School of Mines did. Perhaps he will add a new wrinkle to where we look for talent. Though in the end I'd guess Montana continues to seek quality players where we always have in the Northwest, California, and Arizona beyond seeking the best of the instate athletes. :ugeek:

Yeah it sounded like you guys had at least 3 guys on the field from Omaha alone. Nebraska kids are just tough, and they love the hell out of football. I'm betting we pick up the odd Nebraska kid, but I doubt it will be a real hotbed for us in the future. I do think that we will start to recruit Colorado the way that you guys have taken over Minnesota.

LOVE the way that guy plays!

Is someone going to start a post on all of the great defensive commitments we have?

Don't know if he'll end up playing O or D, but this kid is a big-time player that I am EXCITED about:

CB/WR- Xavier James 6'2" 180 (Veraddo HS) Buckeye, AZ (2-Star)

His athleticism is off the charts, and is the closest recruit I've seen to Dalton Daum's class of speed.

I also think Esai Longoria will be a great player but according to the article in the Missoulian he has a meeting with the coaches tomorrow night to discuss his scholarship situation probably cut his scholarship to sign another receiver. Stitt not recruiting defense is like Delaney not recruiting any offensive lineman lineman

For those wanting a player from NE, stay tuned as the Griz may be closing in on a big DT from Omaha. Go Griz!

I've never really wanted a player from NE.
Just want the "big DT", that kid can be from Omaha, Osaka, or Oslo. :ugeek:

I just pray it isn't Bucky Cunnigham, starting right tackle for Class E Valentine H.S.

The available DT's from Nebraska is pretty limited right now.

Henderson and Smith-Parrott have size for sure, but not much for speed. Then again, we are needing a run stuffer.

A coaching friend of mine in Omaha really likes this kid and feels he is flying under the radar of BCS schools. From what I hear, he either gets a late offer from Iowa or wants to play for a contending FCS program.

Bucky is a little undersized for an interior lineman, but coaches are said to really like his footwork.

You can still add some weight to that frame probably without losing much speed.
Kid must have plenty of heart to be playing line. Go Bucky Go!
