GRIZ/GONZAGA thread

I definately have NOT been impressed with Ryan Staudacher. If he can't hit a "3", what good is he? He seems one dimensional and not good at that one dimension (yet). I am not saying he's horrible, but he has yet to show much this year. We are missing that 6'5" brooklyn-ite right now. I think that is our weak-link. He needs to improve quick, or Martin will deserve more PT, despite his horrid defense. At least Martin has the fire going. He played like a warrior today, and I have not been a Martin fan for the most part, but I gotta give him props for showing up.

I think we could've gotten it within ten, maybe 7 or 8 had cam not gone down... completely killed that little run. not saying we could've pulled it out but i could've seen the margin within 10. we did this all last year. it didn't matter how good the team was. we'd go down 15+ then have to battle back with a solid run at the opening of the second half.

Martin's defense is fine. Zirg, you don't know what you're talking about.

Agreed, Stads will improve. Didnt get alot of PT last year and Tinks threw him in against the 14th team in the country, he'll be fine.

Wouldn't matter; nobody on that team could guard him!

I agree. Although I was impressed with the GRIZ D on the first possesion. I thought GU was going to have some real trouble with it. But then the GRIZ just kind of stopped. Maybe because they were getting tired or the ZAGS just looked uncharacteristically bad on that possesion. Meh, doesn't mateer I guess.

PS-Lou, holy sh*t!!!

i agree with what lou said. while i did desire a griz victory, i have to admit that that dunk may have been one of the coolest THINGS i have ever seen. did anyone see the look on qvale's face?! oh yeah, sorry this post did not rhyme; i couldn't think of one in time...

sorry the last one doesn't work

Had to be the coolest dunk I've ever seen in a college game!

Not to take anything away from Pargo, but apparently you haven't watched much college basketball, as there have been many more impressive dunks.
Even from a former Bobcat in the lowly Big Sky conference

The maority of these are better.

Go back to the late 80's and early 90's and there are even more (Memphis State - Michael "the wild thing" Wilson, Arizona St. -Joey Johnson, UNLV - Stacey Augmon, J.R. Rider, Mich. St. - Matt Stigenga, Iowa- Gerry "Sir Jamalot" Wright, Kentucky - Rex Chapman, UNC - Vince Carter, Jerry Stackouse).

I think I'll have to stick with my original statement: There's something to be said about a point guard dunking over the opposing teams center. That's what made it the coolest dunk I've ever seen!!!
Besides: I meant seen as in watched it happen, not watched a highlght of it on youtube. It's way different when you don't expect it.

True. But it's harder to get 20 and 10 against someone who's not one of the slower people on the team.

So... now that this game is over, how long before you and CDA go back to wherever you came from?

Yes, the game is over, was before it started. But to answer your question: We will be here through April.

Oh good, cuz it seemed like you were wishing I would leave or something. Kinda made me feel like an unwanted guest. Hurt my feelings a little.
