Griz Football Product

To keep this on thread, essentially yes. Why? Because we don’t schedule good OOC games anymore and play in a weak conference.

It’s part of the problem. Kent relies too much on people who just want to come and have some luke warm Busch Lattes and bum Zyns while their wives aren’t looking. 🥱

If we aren’t going to have exciting regular season games like the 95 win over BSU, we could at least not have to watch Monte shimmy around to Kid Rock for the 1,000th time.
We’ve been scheduling pretty good home and home series. UND is in the upper echelon of MVFC teams.

Thanks for answering my question. You hit the nail on the head. Booby’s last (and only) marquee road win was JMU in 2008.

Fun fact, that was so long ago that I watched it at Bodega and you could still smoke cigs.
The Griz in general have less marquee road wins because WaGriz is such a great home field advantage. Fans had the same complaint during the Stitt era that the team didn’t do as well on the road as at home.

UND was 8-6.

He’s had chances at big road wins. Let’s talk about the big away games Booby Hack has fumbled the bag on.
SHSU - 04
Weber - 08
JMU - 21
Weber - 19
Weber - 23
UND - 24
NDSU - 22
SDSU - 24
MSU - 03
MSU - 05
MSU - 19
MSU - 21
MSU - 23
MSU - 25 x 2
EVERY national championship

Seems like a trend. That’s a 5% win pct in marquee road games. Eek

Throw in UND 24.

this is the same as talking politics or religion. Critical thinking skills are turned off. I find it somewhat interesting.
I'm a boomer and a new coach guy so don't lump boomers as bobby forever guys.

Brother, I am a middle aged white guy. We are more alike than not.

Also, my point wasn’t really “Booby Sucks”. It was that the program and athletics in general are becoming boring and stagnant because we are led by an AD who is afraid to innovate to stay relevant. Someone who won’t challenge Booby, ask the tough questions and hold him accountable.

So here’s what I think is being missed and something that the boomers on this board don’t understand. Modern football is akin to selling a product. One of the biggest killers of any once great company is lack of innovation and complacency.

Our football product and athletics department in general is so stale it’s an absolute shame. We seriously still play a Jay-Z song as our run out? How many times can we drag out our throwback colors and brag about the 95 chipper?

Imagine AT&T deciding to double down on land line phones in the late 90’s instead of revamping as an internet and mobile provider? That is exactly what Griz athletics and football under Haslam and Hauck 2.0 have become.

You don’t hire the old guard to innovate and bring you into the modern era. You do what MSU has done the past 15 years. At this point Vigens selling the new iPhone while Hauck and Haslam are convinced they can still make their quarter hawking Sky-tel pagers.
Alpha, is that you?

No, but I did always think it was funny when he called it Fartmouth. I’ll give him credit for that.

But, regardless, we are talking about cultural development post Tip O’Neil and the Buick LeSabre. Have Peggy put on one of your Glenn Miller records and heat up a warm cup of
milk for you.

The Griz football product is top notch. Huge attendance. Fun atmosphere. Largest season tickets ever. Season sell outs. Highest QB Club membership ever. Lots of tv. Many home games and playoff games. More new facilities every few years. Very good and generally successful team. 13 wins and semis this season. Very good coaching. Very good cheer squad and band. Top mascot. High academics of team. See Botner. No off-field problems by players or coaches. Good community involvement by players. Good fund-raising. Good NIL. Haslam deserves considerable credit.

I don’t listen to the music, don’t care about it, and leave that to you experts. I suppose when you don’t know much about the game, you focus more on things like music.

You saw that my family and Pflu had a good time at the Fiesta Bowl yesterday? It was nice to have the 50 yard line seats. And nice to attend the Suns win over the Thunder a few days ago.

I see you are another mini stalker and creeper. Making reference to names including my wife. Does it make you feel better or more important to bring up my wife?

You stalkers and creepers are weird.

So bad they only sell 19,000 season tickets.

You know who does care about the gameday experience? The prospective kids you are trying to get to attend your university. Or the alumni and season ticket holders you want to stay connected and engaged. If you think our enthusiasm is anywhere near that of Bozeman’s (our biggest market competitor) than you are more out of touch than I previously thought.

Hoops, you are just Bob Costas crying about the rule changes in MLB affecting the purity of the game, while every person under 25 was tuning out.

Or maybe, you’re more like Chip at the end of Animal House. “Remain calm, all is well!”

Haslam is so gun-shy, weak and timid that he was going to EXTEND Stitt. Once Kyle Sample brought it to Twitter the Washington boys threatened to pull $. That is the only reason Kent “Knock-Knees” Haslam didn’t renew him.
Actually, Haslam offered Stitt a one-year extension without a raise. Stitt demanded a three year deal with progressive raises. That was a non-starter for both Haslam and major donors.

Oh, please. Let’s make game day music for high school kids. Good joke.

UM game day experience is way better than MSU’s. Even most Cats admit that.

Baseball is boring.

You are out of touch. And not very smart.
