Griz at Northern Iowa predictions

The Griz struggle on the road against good teams. Unfortunately, I don't see this one being different. I think we will play well enough to make it interesting, but fall short.

28-24 UNI

I have to go with reality and not heart. The Griz of last year did not play well on the road. Will that turn around this year? We'll see. I certainly hope so. BG has to play consistently throughout the game, not just a half. Will he? We'll see. Can we run the ball against a strong MVC front seven? If not, we'll struggle being a one dimensional team even against a young UNI secondary. Can our D take the beating all game if we have turnovers and short times of possession?

This is a very tough test for this team. The upside is good for this team but I am doubtful it all comes together this fast.

UNI by 10. Man that hurts to type! Hope I am wrong.

Not sure who will win, but I found it interesting that Craig Healy in his column today picked the Grizzlies, (X'd them anyway).

The EWU at NDSU game and the NAU-Western Illinois game will be interesting to watch. Personally, I think the BSC is due for some payback on MVC. Probably some big implications for the number of teams from BSC that get into the playoffs on the line Saturday. I hope all three BSC teams kick ass.

Certain teams just have certain teams number. Griz have Panthers number. Both teams have several new faces in starting positions. Griz exploit UNI secondary, Griz D gets pushed around and suffer with a short bench. Griz special teams play better than week one. Griz- 34 UNI- 20

That was an UGLY performance from a young and inexperienced ISU squad that UNI beat (OL had a combined 6 starts among all of them) . ISU continually shot themselves in the foot with 4 turnovers and numerous costly penalties that killed them, not to mention the easily avoidable safety it gave up. ISU offense couldn't get out of it's own way, it was painful to watch, very poor player execution. ISU first year head coach has his work cut out for him...

UNI will be flying high emotionally at home this weekend. But the Griz are talented enough to beat them. They just need to play with swagger in all three facets, and stop the big, athletic QB (former transfer from Illinois) from running.

GRIZ GET SOME AND WIN 8-) :egriz:

Interesting reading through this thread, BG has to have a career game, OL has to bring it like it has not all last year and not exactly a great start this year, ST will improve, could they possible be worst than last
week, inexperienced WR, lot of hurdles to overcome for the GRIZ to win a football game.

Not to worry the GRIZ are 5-0 against UNI, however never a win with coach Stitt and his offense.

I will never believe the GRIZ athletes are not capable of competing with any team on any Saturday, and I will be be backing them this Saturday, however with that being said I would not be surprise to witness a game like the final playoff game last season.

Nobody in this thread has pointed out a weakness of the prowess of UNI's offense or defense, only what the GRIZ have to do the second game of this season against one of the most formidable teams they face this year.

Go GRIZ earn a victory, even if it has to be ugly.

What? Two of the best QBs in the FCS? How could one of the top FCS reporters not know, according to many on Egriz, Brady is only the third best QB on the team and should be replaced, benched, fired, or tranfer to Western Tech?

42-14 Northern Iowa, They are tough. Unless the Griz pull their shit together and UNI has a let down week after Iowa State. Something tells me they don't feel the ISU win was as big as people think. I think they went there expecting to beat them.

I have decided the Griz start being the Griz again and go to Iowa and start the kicking ass tour and become the feared team of the FCS again.
Griz 40
UNI 17

I don't have a good feeling about this one. Running QBs usually seem to give us fits. Inexperience on defense and inconsistently on offense will most likely hold the Griz back in this one. Would love to see them win tomorrow, but when we have to ask "which offense will show up, will the road Griz show up" that's not a good sign.

Northern Iowa - 31

GRIZ - 24
