Griz at Northern Iowa predictions

I'll take the Griz in this one...UNI is good but they aren't great....

Griz will play better than last saturday.

Have some faith.

Griz 35
UNI 28

A smart fan never makes a prediction.

It is why I am in this thing.
The winning team scores 40+ points.
I pick the Griz by 1.

I think that the Griz kind of overlooked the Red Flash and have had their eyes set of UNI since the Schedule came out, Don't forget we had several defensive players that did not play as they were held out for this game. The defense will show up big time and the offense gained a lot of confidence in the second half so I think we will give UNI a great game and squeak out a win. 31 to 28 with last minute field goal by our new kicker.

For much of the game, Iowa State looked as lost as Montana did in the first half last Saturday.

Some credit for that goes to the UNI defense, of course, but Iowa State made some horrible mental errors. Nailed for a safety when the QB doesn't even notice a blitz coming deep in his end (it seems), horrible pass at the end that should have been thrown away but instead was picked off to take away their last possession, a pass straight to a UNI defender for another interception, tons of penalties, etc.

That being said, Bailey is a load. He's a bigger, probably faster Tyrell Rennie, with a little better passing skills. The Griz corralled Rennie, but Bailey will be tougher.

You guys are playing a MVC team so it is going to be too physical for you, UNI wins this one 55-13

UNI is the #3 rated team playing at home. The Griz are 5- 0 against the panthers, mostly if not all in Missoula.
UNI should be extremely highly motivated to get UM at home, and most people think they are a better team.
So I'm picking UNI to win, but not because they are a MVC team. (see all time record against the Griz). 55 -13 is pure delusion. Unless it's not. We'll see.

This team is capable of doing great things and ..you know, I think the bear got poked and that sometimes doesn't go well. I would not want to be in the uni secondary.

GRIZ -----41

still a kitty----30

This is the game Coaches have been waiting for. Stitt wants difficult road tests early, he wants his teams to be good/great on the road. I am hoping and predicting that the Griz come out hot this time and get close to 100 plays for the game. You see Gus taking early reads because of their inexperienced secondary. Their secondary gets gassed, later in the game, their front 7 gets gassed. You get into that shootout that Stitt and Semore want. Semore's D causes two turnovers with some defense alignments that flat out confuse NIU. That's the difference. Griz win 48-36
