Too funny that people want to point fingers at the drunk fans that are slow to get back into the stadium after half as a factor in the Griz loss.
My fingers are pointed at McKinney, Nguyen, and Tully...................

Are you kidding?? And, no mention of Dan Moore?
I forgot about Moore.....great TD runs I love the way he plowed that NAU CB over on the goal line. Dude runs hard!

- Shit their pants today.

- Gregorak has been the most hyped coordinator in Griz history. FAIL

- Rosey has been anointed our next head-coach before we even played a game. FAIL

- We have a LONG way to go in terms of play-calling and scheme on both sides of the ball.

- TMac and Dan Moore take care of the ball.

- Bo Tully is awful.

good night.

my take as well..........front line is clueless on blocking for the run or pass. that interception that trent threw up in the air instead of out of bounds???.....was completely hung out to dry not one guy out of 3 back there blocked for him........all 7 players..........4 of theirs and 3 of ours were running after trent...completely pee wee ball.......not one laid a hit.

Agree to a certain degree. If the Griz can not throw downfield (How Rosey is not working with TM on his throwing motion is beyond me) then the little swing passes will not work and it will be difficult to run because Montana is not threat and easy to defend. They had better come up with something to keep teams on their heals or EWU will pu 50 on this team. They were dejected in the 4th on both sides of the ball
Aaaaahhh.... Another convert to Grizmayor-ism.

Grizmayor-ism.....do you guys get together in dimly lit rooms and rub oil all over each other? Figure that is why I just won't buy in.
I'll accept the fact that you were probably a male cheerleader and never play, coached or reffed (or cleaned Vegas out) like me. Other than that, I guess we have the same football IQ. ;)

I fail to understand the Killer Instinct comment. The Griz turning the ball over 5 times, and pretty much on 4 consecutive drives to end the 2nd and start the 3rd quarter, had way more to do with things than thinking that the Griz decided to shut down the offense in the second quarter.

not true.......both sides of the ball played to maintain the lead....completely went into prevent play....
unbelievable??????

You are correct, 5 turnovers will PREVENT a team from winning.

I wonder how many empty seats there are at Baton Rouge, Madison, Columbus, Tuscaloosa, Eugene, Norman, Gainesville, Austin, or any other great home venue around the nation. Sure, there may be a few, but THREE QUARTERS OF THE STADIUM? You've got to be kidding me. Good for you that you made it back in, that's great. Why are you so dense to not recognize that it plays a roll? Playing football is difficult when you can't hear the guy next to you, a lot simpler when you have no problem hearing at all. Why defend the bandwagon tailgaters? Is your husband part of the crowd? Tailgating is a pregame event, once the game starts....it's football. Btw-awful coaching & awful decisions in my opinion were the reasons we lost today. KMAYFM!

Guess all that means is that those schools have better fans. But it still is not an excuse. The fans can make a home field more difficult, but a team still must execute. If the Griz need to rely on gimmicks and crowd noise, and cold weather to win, then maybe they are not that good after all.

Lots of reasons why we lost today- Play calling & non-adjustments at the top of the list. In no way am I blaming the empty seats after half time for the loss, however.......If any of you think it's not a factor, you're morons. We have an unbelievable home field advantage....when fans are in the stadium that is. How many times do we pound our chest on how loud our stadium is (& cold!!), it IS a huge advantage. The fact that the stadium is nearly empty & quiet after halftime takes away that advantage, period. If you say that it's not a factor, then NEVER let me hear you say anything about our home field advantage (false starts, delay of game, blah blah blah). Keep drinking your shitty beer & eating your crappy hot dogs while the team you are "rooting" for is in a nearly empty stadium getting two quick scores crammed down their throat within the 1st few minutes of the 2nd half. While you're expanding your waistlines, the opposing team is scoring in the "silent" noisiest part of the stadium. The true bandwagon fans are you all. You never see this in any other great home field venue in the nation....morons.

Lighten up Francis!

I guess if all Griz fans were as good a fan as you we would blow right thru the FCS and right into the Fiesta Bowl playing for the NC right? Man you are the shit and if the rest of griz nation showed up like you every game we would never lose another game!

Get the F over yourself!

Could we have a better coaching staff? Maybe? Several of you are blaming the loss on the coaches....not so. Have you looked at the overall talent level of the Griz compared to the teams of the past 15-20 years? Look at each position and compare. The problem isn't coaching, but recruiting, in my view. Take a look at our secondary or wide receivers and compare to those of the past and tell me we can win against good teams. I don't think so....

Some obvious clues.

A. New Coach
B. New O Coordinator
C. Loss of many key defensive players (especially secondary)
D. Cluster F^%$ of an off season with a ton of distractions
E. New - green quarterback that is making turnovers (not unusual)
F. Growing frustration by players and now a QB controversy starting to brew.
G. Florio with 50 Griz player voodoo dolls sticking pins in them during the whole damn game.
H. Fan base that is more distracted than the players.

Could be a long rebuilding year we are in for and we better start recruiting safeties at the Juco level and fast.

Every point will be debated on this board except maybe G.

this from the guy who posts a weekly diatribe against the fans near him in the north endzone? francis ain't the one that needs lightening up. what needs to happen is that you ought to switch from oly to schmidt's. there is too much lead in oly, and it is clogging up yer brain.

Remember last year when a lot of posters were dogging Nate for all those "potential" INT's he was throwing??? (Good recall Grizmayor!) I say we get off Dan's ass for his second fumble on the SECOND play of the 3rd quarter... Since Lucky #20 for the 'Jacks DROPPED a potential interception on the FIRST play (obviously Rosenbach's fault for throwing a floater five yards too far)... And then lets take a good look at DM's fumble - I do believe Oiland damn near completely whiffed on his block and the DT was into Dan before he even got the handoff secured. I love breaking down tape... gets rid of the beer goggles that most of EGriz watches the game with.

The crowd not being back for the 3rd quarter is the dumbest excuse always used on this board. If this team can't play football without a stadium full of people I think I'd like to see a new team on the field. Does the crowd make a difference in a game? Sure. Does a crowd win football games? Never. Stop with the dumb excuses like crowd noise, or too cold or too loud or too whatever. The blame falls squarely on 5 turnovers. The blame falls on an offensive coordinator who decided to mail it in with a mixture of going for blood and playing conservatively in the same drive inside of 2 minutes left in the 1st half. The blame falls squarely on a special teams coach who decided it'd be a good idea to give NAU the ball at our 50 yard line with an onside kick instead of pinning them deep like we had been, and had momentum rolling. The blame goes on a defensive coordinator who couldn't figure out how to stop one of the best running backs in the Big Sky on the same play off the OTs ass that went twice for 60+ yards. Or a defensive coordinator who leaves a liability on the field at safety. If you're into superstitions and stuff, don't play frigging John Denver in the 1st quarter.. bad juju. Plenty of blame to go around, the crowd is definitely not the problem.. the place got pretty noisy a couple of times today.
The onside ultimately gave the griz good field position, after NAU turned it over on downs. The griz went on to score a touchdown from there , dicey call but worked out in the end. All momentum changed after DM's fumble!

The game was won at halftime by Jerome and his staff in the NAU locker room. Likewise it was lost down the hall in the other one - with an assist from all of the tailgating "fans" who sucked all of the energy out of the stadium when they were still AWOL more than halfway into the 3rd quarter.

Suspicions confirmed: A lot of season ticket holders are primarily there for socializing - not Griz football.
Should alcohol be cut off after opening kickoff?
I'm not saying I support it, just asking the question.
no becuase the people who miss most the 3rd quarter will most likely miss the whole second half because they will walk over to the press box.

Come,on Silvertip, the coaches coach, the player play, the fans drink, eat, and party, support with $$$ dollars.

What happens on the road when only a couple of thousand are in the stands, and the Griz win, while the rest of the fans are drinking, eating and partying at home, and still support with $$$ dollars.

Grow up, not going to win every game, after all the kids for the last four classes beat NAU for fourteen years, now is not the time to blame fans, it's time to start to dominance all over. Coaches and players accomplish this, not football tailgaters.

Those fans that are socializing are paying $1000 plus for that privilege, not for you to judge.

Thanks for considering my opinion.

I'll give some support to Tip on this one. He said the lack of fans in the third quarter provided an "assist". He's right, in my view. Right when the team could have used some support and a lift, and with NAU near the NEZ, much of the crowd was still outside. There's a reason UM has such a winning record at home--and much better than on the road. Jeez, look at the playoff record at home and on the road, when the opponents are stronger (and when the crowd advantage is even more important). Why do you think the team waives their arms to get the crowd and crowd noise going? It's because they enjoy the support and know that the noise bothers the opposing offense and causes penalties, mistakes and timeouts. A noisy crowd gives UM an advantage. UM didn't have that advantage in the third quarter.

Well, I have to respectfully disagree, the fans not being in their seats had nothing to do with three interception, and three fumbles, that is just the unfortunate breaks of the game, which the Griz have benefited for years.

Sat. the lumberjacks were able to capitalize on these turnovers, and not because of the lack of fans not being in their seats.

Live with it, the Griz had a bad day, I'm sure come Monday, the team and coaches will start back to work, and if you ask each an every one of the player, coaches, and assistances, not one would say that the fans not being in their seats had anything to do with this loss.

Winning every game is a goal, however not a reality.

Again, just my opinion.
