GEORGIA STATE, can’t wait, GAME THREAD

I was hoping for a better showing for the opening half but GA State is a very athletic team with lots of SEC level talent. UM is going to have to hit free throws this year and so far, that is a weak spot. Once again, UM has no 3 pt shot and the way the game is being played today, they better get a shooter or they will be in games decided by three pointers and free throws and that is not what UM wants.
 
Gotta figure out a way to attach the rim. Shooting threes won't cut it. They are packing it in and daring us to launch threes.
 
33 all at the half. Griz are playing good defense, but the shots aren't falling. I think some of the free throw misses may be just first "real" game jitters. Akoh does have a soft cast on his shooting hand. May be why he's missing. Not sure though.

3 point shooting doesn't look great, but Manuel would be 4 out of 5 if he didn't have one rim out. In person, Crowd is pretty good and into the game for first home game against a team not Whitworth or Tech. Looking forward to a fun second half. Go Griz!

I know GA state is good...blah blah blah. This Griz team is senior led, should’ve won against these guys last year, and is loaded with talent. This, so far, is exactly...exactly the same team we’ve seen

Not really. UM has some great athletes to match up with theirs. UM can stop the back door play and Rorie can score in the paint. I think UM will win this but I thought they should have scheduled a better team open the season instead of GA State...they are really good. People in the South know that...UM needs to take into the paint and get some easy fouls. Simonds is pretty much the team...

Ga St is senior led and loaded with comparable talent.

Yes. Griz are also at home, and exactly what I said in my post. Agree that should’ve been the second game. Is what it is
