Georgia Southern: Could have moved up years ago

I had no point, and looked at no stats, other than to point out the GS attendance for last fall. In that para, my only point was to state what attendance was, and show that the home attendance declined fairly significantly later in the year. Nothing else was said, and nothing else was implied.

You actually think you're convincing anyone of that? Everyone here knows you're agenda when it comes to the topic of other teams who have moved up. It's not like this hasn't come up before.

Funny thing is this conversation went pretty much exactly like I expected it to. VERY Amusing :)

Looking today at the current regional map of primary land grant colleges and universities you'll find among others Boise State, Nevada, UNLV, San Diego State, Fresno State - plus BYU and the US Air Force Academy - schools that in the main are respected for both their undergraduate and research programs - with not a Tier 3 or 4 compass directional or subway commuter D2 defector in the bunch.

Since when are we a Land Grant University? The only Land Grant University in our state is MSU. Face it guys the UM is a glorified teachers college. We were ranked 438th in the Forbes rankings. Mainly because we get no research money and accept anybody with a heartbeat. As apposed to SDSU at 226th, AFA at 34th, Utah Stae at 303rd, MSU at 300th, BYU at 79th and Wyoming at 200th. Our peers are South Dakota at 486th, South Dakota State at 491st, NDSU at 411th, UND at 469th Weber State at 407th and Portland State at 564th.

and Everett is down....the count begins, one, two......

Well he didn't play the game like PlayaRep....for the #1 team in the nation, starting at corner, holding Jerry Rice to 1 catch for 5 yards, all while the game was nationally televised...Brian Williams with the play by play!

No Rice, but took down the leading rusher in the nation and Heisman runner-up multiple times, as well as multiple backs and receivers who eventually played in the NFL. Playing in front of 50,000 and even 60,000 and being introduced on ABC TV a couple times was cool. Playing on Lambert Trophy and no. 14 team in the nation was also fun. Let's hear you big time football credentials.

I scored a touchdown in a JV game once....are we on the same level?

Nope. I don't have an agenda. Just views, and occasionally strong views, on various subjects. Funny thing, when you are wrong, our posts just move in a different direction. Why can't you just admit you were wrong on this one, or otherwise move on? As for moving up, I rarely care if a team moves up or has moved up. I may think it's smart or stupid, but I don't care. Never criticized Boise or Nevada, or even Idaho, when they moved up. Not Marshall ever. UMass, yes. Idaho now, yes. Don't think I've said much on App St. I can see what they're trying to do. We'll see how successful they are. Good luck to them. Same with Georgia Southern. Two low attendance conference games at the end of a season doesn't make a trend, but obviously some fans had lost interest by that time of the season--or the weather must have been incredibly horrible for those games.

So what's our excuse for playoff game attendance? Fans losing interest?
