Gazette - QB Rankings

The list above left Drew Miller off and Jeff Lewis.....................so there is that................

One of the above lists, in fact the first one by a poster, included Miller and Lewis.

"Griz in top 10. Dickenson, Ah Yat, Miller and Ochs.

Others might include Friez and Nussmeir of Idaho, Lewis of NAU, Lulay of MSU, Meyer and Nichols of EWU, Martin and Higgins of Weber.

Perhaps some of these in the running too. McMillan and Alioti of Boise, Machurek of Ida St, Hobart of Idaho, Brown and Murietta of NAU, Flowers of Northridge, Mitchell and Loons of EWU."

Like I would ever read an entire thread on here.....

I read the last page, take a swing and drive off.

I just don't get the DM bashing going on by this board. Will someone OTHER than AG1 provide some factual information as to why DeNarius McGhee is such a bad quarterback. Cause here's what I know..He's 2-1 in the Griz-Cat game with 2 wins at Wash-Griz including as a frosh. And I don't give a rats how he actually played in the games, he's the QB and they get the credit when they win and the blame when they lose. Just like head coaches. I also know he's a two-time Big Sky Offensive MVP, including once as a frosh. People like to spout off about how much talent there is in the Big Sky, well apparently DM must be pretty damn talented to finish ahead of the rest of the talent in this conference when it comes to that award. He's also a three-time FCS All-American. He's shattered many MSU passing records with a year to go and it's no coincidence that the MSU program is in better shape during his run as the starter than it's maybe ever BEEN! And yes, I'm well aware that MSU hasn't went to a semifinal under McGhee. I've watched every one of his playoff games. And he deserves some blame in that. But a bad QB because of it? NOPE. Not true. This bashing of McGhee is pretty much as ridiculous as when Cats' fans used to try and tell us Marc Mariani wasn't as good as we all thought he was.

Just because some people believe DM is a bit over-rated, hasn't performed well enough in the playoffs, and was not the best qb on the field in the one game when he went head-to-head against JJ, doesn't mean he's a bad quarterback.

I've probably made the most, or one of the most, positive post on DM ever made by a Griz poster, but I would still take JJ over DM as my team's qb this year. He has the potential to be a better qb, and will likely become a more consistent qb. JJ has looked terrific since he returned in the spring. That's why Gregorak and many others are so high on him.

The Cat fan's statement that DM has a chance to be the best qb to ever play in the Big Sky conference is absolutely absurd, and one of the truly dumbest comments I have ever seen on the board.

Okay, here's my prior post on McGhee. Let's see all the more positive ones from Griz posters.

"Interesting on McGhee running more, if true. Also, nice overview post. Thx. I have always liked McGhee. He's been very good, a leader on the field, a big play maker, good at throwing from scrambles and broken plays, and has shown the ability to shake off mistakes and come back. However, is he tough enough to run? Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always thought he was a bit of a pussy. Many qb's are; not intended as a knock."
