Blgs Griz Fan said:If football is a team sport of 11 players then why is it "In Denarius We Trust>" That is just not logical.
As I said enough of this. Let the 2013 season tell all.

I wouldn't rate him better than Lulay, than Ochs, certainly not DD. However he came to the cats at a time when they were rebuilding and needed something. He was new and did well his first year even beating the Griz. But, the Griz had a new hc and were playing their second string qb since Selle was gone. In addition, 2010 was a tough time for the Griz since they were adapting to a new rookie hc that was hell bent on changing the offense regardless of the players he had.
That being said, all of a sudden I see t shirts running around Bozo with "In Denarius we trust." Now I doubt DM had anything to do with this but I do think he bought into it and in his mind he thinks of himself as the "franchise" player. This may be why he doesn't know when to end a play. Thus the turnover problems.
In 2011 the Griz stomped the cats in Bozo, 36-10 and Griz first string QB Jordan Johnson gave DM a workshop on how to qb. This is the only game DM has really faced the Griz with a first string qb playing and the cats lost.
In 2012, The Griz are rocked by a whole ton of issues that adversely affected the program including termination of the AD and HD and the bogus charges against the qb starter. The cats barely squeeked by the Griz in the Brawl, Earlier, the cats were on their way to being sole BSC champions until...McGhee throws a pic six late in the game. Yes that play cost the cats their sole championship title in decades.
Now we have 2013. JJ is back but there is some concern over coaching and rightfully so. I think the Griz have enough talent to win despite the coaching. The cats have a cupcake schedule and opted out of the NDSU game which would have shown just how good they are or are not. Conversely, the Griz schedule is much harder.
Let's let the season play out and then decide. I think McGhee will have a good year and maybe even make it past round 2 in the expanded playoffs but that would really be a surprise. I think the Griz make the playoffs and venture deep into them with a very real possibility of a trip to Frisco.
You DM bashers are sooo cute!
I think it's going to be hilarious to come back and visit these posts once the season gets rolling because youu guys have no idea what you're in for watching DM in 2013... but you will.

I assume you are implying that my head is always stuck up my ass. So, you're saying DM's thumbs are stuck up my ass? Uh, OK.
Guess I'm glad he has such small hands.

If you measure success purely by winning championships, then I suppose you wouldn't think highly of McGhee. But I have a trivia question for you - are there any QBs in the NFL hall of fame that never even made it to the super bowl, let alone won one? The answer is yes, there are two. There are 3 more who made it but never won it, for a total of 5 HOF QBs without a ring.
McGhee has a chance to break nearly every Big Sky Conference passing record, in a conference traditionally known for a lot of passing. Granted I know they didn't count playoff stats until several years ago, and I know he is a 4 year starter.
He will likely break:
Total Offense (needs 3308 yards)
Completions (needs 283, did 284 last year)
Wins (needs 4)
Has a shot at:
Passing Yards (needs 3501 yards)
Passing TDs (needs 28)
Total QB TDs (needs 34)
He won't go down as the best QB to ever play in the conference if he doesn't win a NC this year, but depending on what kind of year he has, could be considered top 3-5.
McGhee won't go down as the best qb to ever play in the conference, even if he wins a NC this year. Not even close. He certainly isn't in the top 5. Probably not in the top 10. McGhee isn't even going to be the best qb to play at MSU. Lulay is.
The spin in this thread makes me dizzy. :?
Griz in top 10. Dickenson, Ah Yat, Miller and Ochs.
Others might include Friez and Nussmeir of Idaho, Lewis of NAU, Lulay of MSU, Meyer and Nichols of EWU, Martin and Higgins of Weber.
Perhaps some of these in the running too. McMillan and Alioti of Boise, Machurek of Ida St, Hobart of Idaho, Brown and Murietta of NAU, Flowers of Northridge, Mitchell and Loons of EWU.
EWURanger29 said:I'd put the guy that won the Payton two years ago on there as well (Mitchell). I know he played on a 6-5 team in 2011 but he put up ridiculous numbers that year and was the MVP of the NC game the year before. Meyer and Mitchell both won it, Nichols was only a finalist, although I'd put him on that list.
For QB's...top 10? Here are a few:
UM
Dickenson
Ah Yat
Ochs
Idaho
Friesz
Nussmeier
EWU
Meyer
Nichols
Mitchell
MSU
Lulay
McGhee
NAU
Murietta

I knew you played center for MSU in 2010. Turncoat!

Who cares  :lol:bigsky33 said:DM goes into this season with more passing yds (9118) and total yds. (10,001) than any other active QB in Div. I football per Colter Nuanez, sports writer. I guess that's why scouts from Dallas, NO,Browns and Titans were there at practice last week watching him.
