Maybe for those with disposable incomes and plenty of time off/retired, but I don’t think that would be feasible for the majority.

Exactly, Wolf. WARNING: For those with thin skins and fragile egos, read no farther.

I read these posts about extended stays, other entertainment, yada, yada, yada, and just laugh. I'm glad you have the money to throw around doing this, that, and whatever, and you are aghast that the airlines go up 500-600%, not to mention lodging, etc. And you still buy 4+ seats, at scalper prices.
You are absolutely clueless to your average Griz fan living here in 'flyover country.' I speak about those season ticket, and one time attendees holders who scrimp and save and budget to be able to come to Missoula to attend even ONE game a year.
If your concerns are the ease of getting a beer at your over-priced remote location, which cost several thousands of dollars for you to plop you fat ass in, then you are entitled, spoiled, narcissistic assh*les gloating about your extravagant, decadent forays. You are more concerned with what yuppie bars/restaurants to attend, so to be seen(scene?)and be seen there.
I tried to be all inclusive here, so if I left off some things or someone, I apologize. I'm sure you all earned your wealth and can do what you want to do with it, but to tout it on this site is over the top. Perhaps confine your braggaocious
statements to eGriz Club. Flame away! :fuel:

Ok, cool. Still doesn’t make me think Frisco was awesome. Met some cool people and saw some old friends, but it doesn’t mean I had to love area, and it certainly doesn’t mean I’m wealthy in any regard. Sorry.

Get a second job or better first job. Seems like you're the one entitled.

Need to look at the big picture. We have an aging fan base and if we price the younger generations out, we likely will see declines long term.

This is a point we all need to be aware of and concerned with. Hopefully another run of national championships follows to help bring excitement, but look around at QB Club meetings, in a lot of sections, and at a lot of events. The Griz fan base is aging, and it is something that we need to recognize and bring younger people in.

Don't be mad at me because you're broke. That's 100% on you buddy. This is America just make more money.

I'm not sure what you're so mad about. When you live in Montana you're basically guaranteed to have to travel somewhere by air for a national title game. It's going to be costly no matter where they host it. I'm sure it wasn't cheap to get to Marshall back in the 90's. I thought Frisco did a fine job of hosting. Nobody in Dallas had any idea the FCS championship was even going on but I highly doubt that would change in Vegas. I would much rather have it in Texas than Florida for sure. Vegas would be the most convenient for us here in Missoula but remember that most of the FCS is based on the East Coast and in the South so they might not see it that way.

The problem with this thinking is that money is all relative. You seem upset about people with more money than yourself talking about an amazing weekend they had watching your squad in the chipper. I didn't view any of it as bragging but that's just me.

But I suspect you have more money than other people as well. You likely have a home and probably even a running vehicle. Are you being clueless and entitled and spoiled when you mention where you live or the fact that you can drive places? I'm sure there are people out there that would give anything for a home or a car. Do you ever complain about gas prices or how expensive food was at a restaurant? Because I can promise you there are people out there who don't have to worry about gas prices because they have nothing to put gas in. They don't care about food prices because they can't go out to eat. They don't know how expensive clothes and shoes are because they can't buy them anyway.

You seem like a solid guy but this is a pretty wild take to me. Bashing a fanbase who talks about their experience at the NC and the hotels, restaurants, car rentals, flights, etc. seems a bit out of touch to me. Unless you're Elon Musk I suppose every other person on the planet could complain about what he can afford and they can not. :?

They don't care about prices at the grocery store? Everybody has to eat.

That's my ENTIRE point Kem. You know there are people out there that can't afford food right? People without a dime to their name? Are people working at Walmart bragging to those on the streets because they can afford things the homeless can't?

My whole point is that there are a million tiers of wealth. People with money aren't bragging when they talk about flying somewhere or taking a trip just because there are people who can't afford to fly? I certainly don't think so.

So you are the self-appointed champion of the homeless, many of whom make choices to favor their habit over food and their impact on a community. Got it. Along with a rant to suppress speech on a blog which gives you every opportunity to ignore. There are better venues for your frustrations.

Not a champion for anyone Kem. And don't recall saying anything to that effect.

When did I suppress anyones speech? I don't recall that. Think I gave my opinion responding to another persons opinion.....

Let's ignore the homeless for a moment as I seem to be losing you by "championing" for them. Would you agree that different people have different levels of money? Do you consider yourself a bragger or clueless if you talk about a flight you took or when you remind the board every weekend that you travel to Missoula all the way from Columbus? I certainly never took it that way. Just because you can afford a vehicle to travel the state and likely have more money than others, talking about it doesn't make you a bragger in my eyes.

Now you're free to disagree with this point. That's fair. Maybe you were every bit as disgusted as 3-7-77 listening to the more fortunate people talking about their flights, hotels, restaurants and taking time away from work. You're entitled to that. I was just chiming in that if we are going to be upset about that, it's worth remembering that there are people out there that could be just as angry at people like you and I that can afford homes, cars, gas and food because not everyone has that ability either.

I'll look forward to you intentionally missing my point and coming back with another passive aggressive comment like you tend to do with most of my posts for whatever reason.

I agree with the points you are making here, they are very rational. But we all know the reason you get that reaction from Kem. ;)

Oh, I am. The opportunity to fly in a commercial aero plane to a destination like suburban DFW Metroplex is something reserved for the coastal elite. Once aboard the 30-year-old 737-800, I would have thrown some dollar bills and caviar to the unwashed masses, but the darn windows didn't open. My transportation from the airport was a lavish Nissan Murano via an application called "Uber" (it's a rich people thing; you've probably never heard of it). As I checked into the opulent Embassy Suites in hoity-toity Frisco, Texas amongst the real estate conference-goers, I felt a bit parched. I inquired at the front desk about a sparkling water from a French spring, but the young woman directed me to a "7-Eleven" about a quarter mile away, as the Embassy had no spring water. "7-Eleven" is what most people call a "convenience store", which I suppose means it's a place to get things any hour of the day at one's convenience. I was able to procure a gross of "Liquid Death" to pair well with my Cool Ranch Doritos and Jack Links original flavor beef stick for dinner. After that, I ventured across the street to meet some friends at a very upscale place that featured young, unattractive women in their underwear serving drinks to people. I was treated to the local news in my lovely room which was appointed by luxurious one-ply toilet paper before I drifted off to sleep in hopes that the Griz would win the next day.

As I awoke to the delightful sound of young children running down the hallway, I realized it was time to sample some of the local fare to break my fast. Luckily, the Embassy did not disappoint, as the staff had put out a spread of powdered scrambled eggs and microwaved pork products. With my stomach full of who knows what, it was time to head to the futbol stadium for the football game. I had arranged a wonderful Honda Civic to transport me there via the Uber application, and it had minimal staining upon its cloth backseat. I settled in for the ride watching miles of land where developers apparently ran out of money. I was able to secure endzone seating which was convenient because the sun wasn't beating down on me (I generally prefer 47 degrees Fahrenheit out of doors). While the Griz didn't prevail, I had a very luxurious weekend of fun and frivolity.

Certainly what money I have must have come on a silver platter and I was probably born with a silver spoon in my mouth. It has nothing to do with 20 years of school and 40 years of work none of which was easy. I have no apology for my inferior level of sympathy relative to yours for those who had other priorities.

Didn't realize I talked about it so much, actually I was only able to make it to two games this year. I should be wary of such disclosures from now on.

Pardon me, but aren't you guys making the same point? One dude got mad that people were talking about their extravagant "vacations" to suburban DFW. Another said he doesn't think such trips make them braggarts because they probably somehow earned the ability to take said trips, and the fact that others might not doesn't make talking about said trips tacky. You then say you aren't sorry that you've earned everything in life and don't apologize for your lack of sympathy for people who had other priorities.

Seems like the same point to me, but I'm not the sharpest drawer in the shed.

I've kind of enjoyed it. I figured Kem saw "ilovethecats" and just went straight into disagreement mode, but yes, they are agreeing and nobody should have to apologize for having the money to go to Frisco, nor should they try to hide it from others. They are on the same page.
