Frank Gogola Article

The Cats have made it to the semi finals four times in the past five years. The griz have made it to the semi finals ONCE in the past....... I don't even know..... 20 years? That's astounding.
Semifinal games are nice, but when was the last Cat national championship game? Or, is it your goal just to get to the semis? Is it your goal to have lost in the semis lots of times?

The Cats haven't made it to the semis 4 of last 5 years.

2024, not there yet

2023, didn't win a playoff game

2022, lost by 21 in semis - That's 1

2021, lost in Frisco - That's 2

2020 Covid

2019, lost by 28 - That's 3 - This was 5 years ago

2018, lost in round 2 by 42

2017, 5-6

2016, 4-7

2015, 5-6

Help me out with the calculations. What did I miss? How did you get to 4 of last 5 years in semis?

Wow, you aren't the sharpest tack in the pack. Are you thinking a meteor, or the super volcano might blow in the next 4 days? spin it, like the "Crews had no tackles" spin.....

Coach Vigen did not inherit a mess when he took over in 2021--Choda, despite his charming personality, had already righted the Shi##ty Kitties and the SK program was in decent shape by the end of Choda's reign when Coach V took over the SK's.

When Coach Hauck re-took the reins in 2018, he inherited a mess--the GRIZ Caddy had been wrecked and badly needed an overhaul, a soft team with hardly any O linemen, and it took Coach Hauck until 2021 to right the ship !!!

Coach, Triple H ( Hard-Headed Hauck) is not perfect--we could all see that this year with the dumb two-quarterback rotation by " feel," and the 3-3-5 gimmick defense featuring more line movement than the Navy/Marine Corps Blue Angels employ during an air-show flight demonstration in their F-18 Super Hornets, which will return to Billings, Summer, 2026 !!! ( NDSU QB Cam Miller said two years ago after The Bison 🦬 trounced us in the second half of our playoff game in Fargo that NDSU knew if they kept running the ball between the tackles, they would find some huge holes sooner or later due to all of these unorthodox stunts, stems, and twists, and boy, did they !!! )

Still, Coach Hauck runs a tight ship deserves an A-/B+ since his return. While he and his staff need to make some significant changes, the sky isn't falling, and we will be just fine and improving in 2025-27 !!!

I think we know who is burying their head in the sand. Those that want to minimize the problems with the program.
I am not minimizing anything. I am just saying that recruiting isn't as easy a saying we are Montana, we have great facilities and a fan base that puts other FCS schools in the dust. Crazy to think Griz fans think that saying we are Montana is a panty dropper.

So you lied? I get it. With it be more accurate to say 4 in last 40 years?

This sentence is just plain stupid. Comparing 2007 Griz to 2023 Cats. The 2007 Griz were way better than the 2023 Cats, who just kept losing games. Yes, teams can lose at bad times. Everyone knows that. However, that does mean that mediocre teams who do that are equal to very good unseated teams. Gogola writes some articles with good information, but he doesn't understand football.

"They're allowed one unexpected loss and can still call what they're doing a dominant run. Just look at Hauck's 2007 team, which he has called his best. The Griz were stunned in their playoff opener, losing by one point to Wofford."
The 2007 Griz team had 11 guys sign NFL contracts. 11. 2007 Griz would murder this Bobcat team.

I blame the boosters. They are responsible for bringing back a guy that proved he couldn't win the big game. Big Game Bob repaid them by losing yet another big game.

Boosters should be held accountable they have done more harm than anything the administration has done.
What is your specific plan to "hold boosters accountable?" Specifically - who should do it and how?

I have to admit I laughed at the 2024 line.

Next will be semantics about the term "year" and "seasons" with us not playing in 2020......

It's really not as hard as we try to make it.

Yr 1 - 2019 - Semi's
Yr 2 - 2021 - Semi's
Yr 3 - 2022 - Semi's
Yr 4 - 2023 - Lost to NDSU
Yr 5 - 2024 - Semi's

Yup. To me, a year doesn’t contain 2 seasons. You can’t go to semis twice in same year/season, in my parlance, except in 2020-21 where playoffs were in spring. Sam Houston beat SDSU in championship. Cats weren’t in semis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2021_FCS_National_Championship_Game_logo.pngAnd wasn’t there a playoff in Covid year? And I just asked for his calculation. I wanted to see his calculation and reasoning.

Fair. Guess it's all about wording. I guess I would say that in the last 5 seasons the Cats participated in, they have made the semi's four of those five seasons that they played in.

See my recent edits for more clarification. And didn’t the Cats play 2 games that Covid spring and not qualify for the playoffs due to not playing enough games? Had the OP said what you said, I wouldn’t have inquired.
