I think you could say that about 90% of fcs teams, with the possible exception of ndsu, sdsu, and ewu losing their best/important player for the year they are screwed.
Where do you think Montana would end up if Sneed goes down early, here's a hint it wouldn't be pretty. Not a knock, just reality.

Griz have 3 other QB's on the roster who can throw the ball better than anyone on the cats. If the line improves as we now suspect and the RB's too, the heat is off the QB and defenses will have to respect both pass and run. Our receivers can get open and help any of these guys out while they get their sea legs.

As for the cats, none of the inaccurate qb's can run like TA or Murray. They can't carry the team. You will see TA back as starting QB by 4th game and if he goes down, so does the ship.
We've seen enough to expect that he does not go down. Tough as they come.

TA and Dalton Sneed are of the same mold of tough at they come. I can't believe the number of hits I've seen Sneed take and still get up.

I saw my neighbor the cat fan this morning and he was all excited about a “new tradition” at MSpoo where they will hand down some jersey number (I think he said it was in the 40s, #47 maybe?) to a native Montanan on defense. He had some explanation about it but it made no sense, at all. Like Choach came up with this all by himself.
I told him it doesn’t get any more little bro than that. He got all defensive and tried to claim Choach was not copying UM because “lots of schools have jersey traditions.”

“Lots” of schools do have a tradition like this.

There it is again.
Yeah, man, you bet!
Let me guess, you can rattle off 2-3 power 5 teams that have a “similar” tradition, but Choach decided to copy our exact version by accident as he was really thinking of those others.

Your cat neighbor is an idiot. Sorry for the redundancy. I assume you tried to explain the #37 jersey goes too the most valuable Montana native, and the only offensive player to wear it was Paulson, who started the tradition.

That's what they said about the Titanic.
No comparison. The Titanic went down and out on its first hit. Anderson, not so much.

I logged into Egriz at lunch after being gone on vacation all last week. I saw this post at the top of the page with 4 pages of discussion. I figured maybe the kid committed and I missed it on Twitter. Turns out its 3 pages of cat fans trolling. Nice work fellas.

Is there any actual news about Jamyn Patu beyond him entering the transfer portal? I'd love to see him as a Griz.

You guys don't pay attention to what's going on. The Cats have gotten better every year since Choate arrived, and that trend will continue. We'll make the playoffs again in 2019, and will advance to at least the third round. Not sure if we'll make it to the title game, depends on how much better our passing game is. We all know it will be better, but how much better is the big question mark right now.
I paid attention to NDSU 52; MSU 10. And would have been far worse had they not called off the dogs. Pretty difficult to extrapolate from that to what you claim.

And that's the main reason TG got fired. Sure his defenses were good enough to beat the griz and most other teams in the Big Sky but that's not good enough for what Choate it building towards.

Well then why would he bring an inexperienced coach in as DC. KI will probably be a good DC at some point. Now? Not sure I would consider him an upgrade. Nothing against him and he was a very good player. Just don’t think he is ready. Tough to have co- coaches or coordinators also. The TG dismissal was not a good thing, but it will decrease the real housewives of Bozeman problem. Hauck and his staff have none of that going on. Lots of stability on his staff.

look up Pete Kwiatkowski and the "nickle base"

KI was sent away to lean the defensive scheme that Choate wants to run

That’s funny, I read this article about Kane’s departure from msu and neither he nor Choate mentioned anything about him being sent away to learn the defensive scheme Choate wanted to run. Must have been a top secret lower paying mission. Makes perfect sense...

Oh sure I believe you. Makes perfect sense. Just like the time my uncle claimed he say Bigfoot or the time my neighbor saw that cigar shaped flying saucer. Perfectly plausible.

 yes! Literally the opposite.
Choach just wished him well as he “moved on in the profession” while KI said the opposite of returning:

This level is so different in how many positions there are and ways to get your foot in the door at this level,” Ioane said Monday from Seattle, where he has already started with the Huskies. “That’s what I saw this as — an opportunity for me to get to the FBS level

Choach is notorious for re-writing history per The Plan. When he had to fire Traitorak, he called down to the MSpoo Statistics Dept and asked an intern to find some stat to support the firing:
“Sure thing choach....ah....only one I can find is: Third down conversion rate!”
Did you see Choacheses’ face when he made this announcement at the presser? It’s like it just dawned on him right there in front of everybody how dumb that excuse was. That dumb look on his face looked even dumber
Choach was looking around the room praying, “please god don’t let one of these dummies ask me, ‘so you fired the poster child of the bend-but-don’t-break-defense for having a bend-but-don’t-break-defense?’”
He might have been sweating bullets that day but he dodged a bullet

Griz offered Jamyn Patu last year and he wound up walking on for the Huskies. Rushed for 2,100 yards and 28 TDs as a senior at O’Dea in Seattle. Would be a solid get for us.

No need for Patu. Marcus Knight will be a beast for the Griz. Big, Strong, Fast, and a Playmaker. Patu may be a nice add, if it happens, but Knight is the real deal

Sorry, but I’d take him in a heartbeat. With the way we go through RB’s lately, the more the merrier.
