I could be reading this wrong as well, but he sounds perfect for the QB spot @ state ag. Amirite?
Still butthurt about blowing a 22 point lead to a team playing a linebacker at QB I see :thumb:

You do see the absurdity of your post? Coach on 4th year playing a linebacker at QB! Something wrong with that picture and does not point to a long term trajectory that is favorable. Don’t tell me how great an athlete TA is. Everybody knows he is a heck of an athlete. If I were his parents I would be pissed. Waste of his talent.
Whats absurd is blowing a 22 point lead to a team that cant pass the ball for shit, not only that but its the 3rd year in a row that you lost to that same one dimensional team. :thumb:

You want credit for the win. Fair enough, but it was BH’s first year back and he inherited a mess. Others on the board may disagree, but the offensive line was Swiss cheese, running back situation was less than ideal and he had a brand new QB. Did I mention the secondary was inexperienced in most positions. What Hauck did in year one was overachieving. What Choate did in year 4 was average. I would give him a very high grade for the spectacular internal drama amongst his assistant coaches. You can’t make that stuff up. Amazingly dysfunctional and undisciplined. He definitely overachieved in that area!!

I am huge Griz fan season ticket holder for 42 years. Saw that he was transferring so I posted it. Got hijacked. Oh well. He would be great to have on the roster. Either way we are trending up.

When you say huge, do mean huge by Griz standards say 285+? Cuz that's just junior miss to kids husky in Fargo.

Long term trajectory for the Bobcat program is looking very, very good as long as Choate is at the helm. Unfortunately I don't think we're going to hold onto him for much longer. The culture shift has been incredible. Choate teams are tough, physical, and the flat out do not quit.
You think Choate is on the radar for an FBS job with a losing record in FCS?

Yes.

How is the trajectory that very good? His record after 3 years is sub 500. 500 in conference. He barely got in the playoffs last year. Overall his teams talent has underperformed except for the defense of which they just let the coach go. He’s raw for someone who has been in coaching for almost 15 years. Is recruiting is inconsistent albeit sometimes great but sometimes poor. For instance the level of expectations are so much higher at other schools. You think Ewu would be okay if Best was 500 after 3 years? What about Stitt? He got ran for being 21-14. I guess you can say Choates teams get up when they have too for bigger games(Cat-Griz) but people talk like choate is a star coach and he’s not.

You guys don't pay attention to what's going on. The Cats have gotten better every year since Choate arrived, and that trend will continue. We'll make the playoffs again in 2019, and will advance to at least the third round. Not sure if we'll make it to the title game, depends on how much better our passing game is. We all know it will be better, but how much better is the big question mark right now.

Alright first of all, getting to the third round is a lofty goal, because with how talented the top FCS teams are this year, and at least 3 losses on your schedule, you’re more than likely not gonna get a seed. Which means to get to the third round you’re gonna have to upset someone on the road and I do not see that happening.

I paid attention to NDSU 52; MSU 10. And would have been far worse had they not called off the dogs. Pretty difficult to extrapolate from that to what you claim.

We shall see how the D does without TG.
Did that D stop NDSU even once?

Wow poorgriz. I know you like to ruffle feathers and give people some crap. Usually pretty reasonable and usually pretty critical of people making lofty predictions. Even if you think you guys will be better than everyone else thinks, you really want to make guarantees of this caliber? Kind of cheapens the accomplishment of making it to “at least” the third round.

Pre-season semi-finalist........ how times have changed.

Last season the cats were a TA season ending injury away from a 3-4 win season. Lose him this year early and it's a losing season. Face it Happy, without TA, you're not any good.

I don't really think that's an unreasonable prediction, but we'll see how things play out. Begin the season with a fairly high national ranking. Favorable schedule, I think the 2019 Cats should be able to get to 8 or 9 wins. 9 wins almost guarantees a first round bye, 2nd round home game which we'll probably be favored, which gets the Cats to the 3rd round. It's not like I predicted we're winning the National Title.

And that's the main reason TG got fired. Sure his defenses were good enough to beat the griz and most other teams in the Big Sky but that's not good enough for what Choate it building towards.

I think you could say that about 90% of fcs teams, with the possible exception of ndsu, sdsu, and ewu losing their best/important player for the year they are screwed.
Where do you think Montana would end up if Sneed goes down early, here's a hint it wouldn't be pretty. Not a knock, just reality.

Griz have 3 other QB's on the roster who can throw the ball better than anyone on the cats. If the line improves as we now suspect and the RB's too, the heat is off the QB and defenses will have to respect both pass and run. Our receivers can get open and help any of these guys out while they get their sea legs.

As for the cats, none of the inaccurate qb's can run like TA or Murray. They can't carry the team. You will see TA back as starting QB by 4th game and if he goes down, so does the ship.
