Armbruster commits!

They grow 'em big and fast in North Bend. Class of '27! Welcome to Griz World, Jason! Reminded be of the Jimmy Dean song:

"Every mornin' at the mine you could see him arrive
He stood six-foot-six and weighed 245
Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip
And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to big John"

(y)

I guess that will make him " Big Jason, Big Bad Jason ?" : )

He'll stand out in a crowd. One day, long ago, I was in the crowd trying to get into WGS, when I noticed this dude walking in our direction. He was head and shoulders above everyone, had to be 6'10". I have lost a couple inches to age, so I got a crick in my neck looking up at him. Well, he was 6'10" as it was Wayne Tinkle.

Wayne Tinkle was such a cool guy. I have a couple of second hand funny stories about that guy. My father said he played a round of golf at Larchmont in Missoula with him years ago. He was swinging clubs that could fit his nearly 7' frame. It nearly caused a tornado when he swung the driver. Apparently he was a driver and a nine iron into a 595 yard par 5.
He also used to good natured tease my elderly mother in her bobcat coat when she showed up to the basketball games with my die hard griz fan father.

Agree--ran--literally bumped into Wayne-- at The Depot probably 20 years ago before bball season after a football game when he was Krysko 's # 1 assistant, and while I knee who he was as I looked up at him in the clouds, he extended a really warm greeting to me, a complete stranger, and no, I didn't think I was special--that was/is just who Wayne Tinkle is : ) !!!
