All sounds really good, however, I hope Trent and Brady are getting up to snuff because Jordy is prone to getting hurt. He takes hits like no other. (Kind of like Dan Moore )I hope the O-line can protect him because our season depends on it!

I wasn't aware JJ was injury prone? How many games has he missed due to injury?

He has not missed any games due to injury that I can recall. However, he is a tough kid and takes a lot of punishment. There has been many/several times where I wasn't sure if he was going to get back up and continue or not. Those are the type of hits he can't sustain for an entire season. He played two + games with a banged up ankle/leg that was excruiatingly (sp) painful and it did hurt his accuracy. Like I said, he takes hits like Dan Moore, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Just how long can he do this? O-Line, protect him...
j.j. came into the 2011 season with an injured ankle. he injured his shoulder in the 4th quarter of the s.s.u. game making a tackle after an interception and didn't return. he missed the u.n.c. game with the shoulder injury. this spring he injured his hamstring and missed about half of spring ball.

JJ missed the UNC game in 2011 - Gerald Kemp and Nate Montana split time in that game.

The thing though about Jordy in 2011 was that the 1st half the season he was just getting wrecked out there, taking huge hits all of the time. Once he returned from having to sit out that one game he played smarter. Venturing a guess here but I'd expect that the coaches worked with him on not having to totally sell out and get wrecked over another yard or two gain. Once he got his head wrapped around that his passing also started improving and he became more of a dual threat. Once that began to shape up coverage had to respect the pass and the running lanes opened up more.

those are good observations. the coaches also started running the ball more actually after the cal poly game. our bread and butter was the run in 2011. we threw the ball more than we ran vs. tennessee and poly and wouldn't do that again until the s.h.s.u. game. of course in games you're trailing you tend to throw more, so it makes sense that we did vs. tenn and sam. i do think, as you said, the coaches made a conscious effort to run more due to j.j. getting knocked around and they probably did instruct to get down.

I remember especially the EWU and ISU games - JJ wasn't just taking hits when he'd carry the ball but he'd also sell that zone-read about 5-8 yards upfield when he handed the ball off, that broadcasted a free shot for LBs and safeties and they'd tee off on him when they had the chance. Didn't see too much of that in the 2nd half of the season, esp when he got on a roll over the course of the WSU/MSU/UCA/UNI/SHSU games.

See...thats what I'm trying to say...thanks Brint...

He does have miraculous recovery powers... I think if my recollectance serves me properly, JJ was almost needing an ambulance one play at Flagstaff, then led the blocking 80 yards downfield the next play on a Jabin reverse. Do you share my memories Oh High and Lofty Oracles of Grizdom??

based on what I saw on friday night Brady is easily #2 and by a wide margin. If we have to go back to TM or SSH we could be in trouble.
you are 100% right. He threw some great passes and made good reads. He has to be No. 2. The future is bright
