IDK about you guys... but I'm no longer too worried about the offense with JJ at the helm.

+1 and I do think that Gustafson is going to be something very special in the near future-

Holy shit, sounds like JJ lit it up tonight. :thumb:

I hope it is a case of him being that damn good. Not our safeties being that damn bad.
You can't blame everything on the safeties. Jesus, guys.

Sounds like he was gashing the LBs and CBs, as well.

JJ made a handful of absolutely beautiful passes to guys that were very well covered by safeties and corners. He threw better passes tonight than I have ever seen him throw before. This offense is going to be damn tough in 2013. Lots of weapons, an incredibly diverse playbook, and the horses to run them all well at a high level.

Expect big things from this team.

It was nice to see the diversity MD had talked about finally show up.

The question remains: is the offense REALLY that good, or did our secondary just MAKE them look good? :? :? :?

JJ made good throws and Henderson made a lot of good catches. There weren't times that it was blown coverage; JJ was just making the play. I also think the secondary will have the opportunity to improve throughout the season now that they are seeing a competent passing attack at practice whereas last year they only saw that on Saturdays.

All sounds really good, however, I hope Trent and Brady are getting up to snuff because Jordy is prone to getting hurt. He takes hits like no other. (Kind of like Dan Moore )I hope the O-line can protect him because our season depends on it!

I wasn't aware JJ was injury prone? How many games has he missed due to injury?

based on what I saw on friday night Brady is easily #2 and by a wide margin. If we have to go back to TM or SSH we could be in trouble.

So, I say again: Why not try TM @ running back?

I don't think he is built well enough to be a full-time running back. Maybe he could be like D'Anthony Thomas the RB/WR for Oregon. Not sure how his hands are.

He has not missed any games due to injury that I can recall. However, he is a tough kid and takes a lot of punishment. There has been many/several times where I wasn't sure if he was going to get back up and continue or not. Those are the type of hits he can't sustain for an entire season. He played two + games with a banged up ankle/leg that was excruiatingly (sp) painful and it did hurt his accuracy. Like I said, he takes hits like Dan Moore, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Just how long can he do this? O-Line, protect him...
