Faculty ask for reconsideration of Hauck hire

I'm so confused these days. I'll post a quote (many more like it) from this thread but not attribute it.
Once again the far left libtards don't look at the whole picture before rushing to judgement.

I'm liberal, very liberal, you could call me socialist and not be far from the truth. But I support the hiring of Bobby Hauck. I want the Griz to return to the football team seen in the Chase Reynolds video. So according to a lot of you posting on these related threads it is just time to come out, chime in with the Davies petition and the faculty letter and the Missoulian and Kaimen articles and call out for recinding the contract.

Or maybe, just maybe Griz football has nothing to do with political persuasion and you should just let that crap go. As GGNez encourages, choose wisely my friends or you may alienate even more fans with your ill thought out labeling of those currently within the fan base.

Exactly

So, as a non-liberal (libertarian), I am required to feel alienated? I mean, we’re supposed to let these self described liberals do and say whatever without response because you may feel alienated? I feel like my feelings should matter as much as yours. I recognize what you’re saying, many here are being total idiots, on that we can all agree, however, I don’t feel like my(our) side needs to be shouted down here. Are you willing to stand by my side and fight for my feeling of alienation? I doubt it, and it’s getting a little tiring having to listen to the feelings conversation when it is against someone else’s feelings.

They had to know this was coming, and then add in the firestorm that was whipped up because of it (I see they're asking for Schlosser's season tix to be revoked), it probably brought on extra concern.
. It would be a stretch to revoke Alpha’s tickets. The license on the ticket references fan behavior and sportsmanship at the venue.

I agree w/ catfish. I'm liberal, too, and the Griz program has nothing to do w/ my politics. I'm glad to see Bobby 2.0 back.

A couple of the articles say that ol' BetaGriz doesn't have season tickets or a tailgate pass.

So either Beta's lying.... Or they are in his business name as a fake tax deduction.

HELP
How much does the revenue from the football program get spread around.

It's a misconception to state the athletic program earns income. It's still revenue negative and needs state funding to survive.

Not the football program specifically.

Kent Haslam was at the UM faculty senate meeting this afternoon and spoke briefly when asked a question about the letter and the inappropriate response to it by certain individuals. I thought he did a great job of explaining the position of UM athletics in response to this situation. I was disappointed that those driving the conversation couldn't seem to separate the controversy surrounding the letter from the fact that BH is not culpable for the behavior of players 24/7. They make their own choices and it's unfortunate that sometimes they make mistakes of varying severity. Kent spoke of the changes in the student athlete conduct code, Title IX reporting and sexual assault training that have been implemented in the last 5-6 years. I thought he represented UM athletics very well.

How much do you make? What's your net worth? How many houses do you own? How many ranches? How many are in the Bakken? Why don't you pick 1 relative and I'll pick 1 relative, and we'll compare net worths? Ha.

More than you. More than yours. Depends what you call a "house", I guess, but depending on your definition, more than one, less than seven. I don't ranch. None are in the Bakken (thank God). I have no desire to meet your relatives and have absolutely no idea what they have to do with one's net worth.

Listen, fellas....I recognize that entering myself into this dick-measuring contest is the...er...biological equivalent of taking a knife to a gun fight but I'm doing it anyway:

My car is paid off, my dog eats only premium dog food and my credit card debt is extremely manageable.

Best new poster since CDA was a pup!

She is hardly a new poster.

You have to remember that most of the posters on here have the memory of my chocolate lab pup...

I can say without reservation that EVG is a hugely wealthy individual.

One night, while drinking with a Boise peach & potato farmer in-the-know, I asked him about the various characters on the board he knew personally. When we got to Everett, and I quote “comes from a strong family, was second to none in space and owns an entire wing of Schick Shadel”, whatever that is.

These liberal arts professors need to look at themselves in the mirror if they think Hauck is to blame for declining enrollment at the university.

HAH!

You guys see the word “liberal” and immediately lose the ability to reason.

I know 3 of the individuals on this list. I assure you they are about as liberal as they come. I know that 2 of them are vocally against athletics, and feel that everything wrong at the university stems from the "devaluing of a liberal arts education" (Their words....)

What’s your point? Since the term “liberal arts” includes the word “liberal”, does that make your redneck knee jerk? Believe it or not, some people don’t support Griz athletics. They’re people with different priorities, not militants from ISIS. In his press conference, BH made a point of talking about the need to treat people with respect. This obligation applies even to people you disagree with. Did you miss that part?

Didn't grizpack just provide some information. I would say that his point was to provide the information because he happened to know 3 of them. grizpack said nothing about ISIS. Do you see something dispectful in grizpack's post? I don't.
