Expectations for this season

When and what sport did 75 coach? Was it at UM? Appears to be a gentleman with much more knowledge than most of you.

Are you actually an adult?

News Flash: few people are as interested in what you think as your are.

Your personal obsession with yourself really doesn't do much for me, and I am sure it doesn't for other readers as well. It's unhealthy, but you keep proving it.

The fact is, the small platoon of self-appointed public relations officers that try to ride herd on opinions here initially denied that Dalton Daum had quite.

What was posted yesterday?
Daum and Mertes no longer with the program
So that dbag RobGriz starts a rumor about a kid leaving who isnt leaving and than we start another post about the kid thats not leaving leaving????? Ok make sense.

Then, when it was confirmed that he had indeed quit the team, the same small group rushed into panic mode, claiming that it had "nothing" to do with football or Coach Stitt.

Saccat, Not everybody here is calling out Daum. But I will say it's just as lame to call out Stitt for this as it is to call out Daum. Neither are required to tell us anything if they don't want to about this situation. The fact is, Egrizzers are reporting Daum has quit the team. That's about it. He is still enrolled at UM, he was photographed in the team weight room very recently, he is still listed on the roster at gogriz.com, and his twitter, on which he posted less than an hour ago, still says he plays for the Griz football team and his # is 16.

Then, Daum himself issued a short press release published in the Missoulian: it was all about the team.
"I just wasn't happy there and never felt like I was apart (sic) of the team," Daum said in a message.
Dalton Daum, Missoulian, March 12, 2014.

It was the epic fail built around the same small group that continually tries to mislead genuine fans.

So, as usual, the tangled end to the saga was that the self-appointed praetorian guard was, once again, wholly wrong on their facts, and had been spinning them wildly, not even bothering to apologize when caught in the outright fabrication as demonstrated by ... the direct, published quote from Dalton Daum himself.

I've never seen elements of a "fan base" so dedicated to lying about their team and the sport. That was simply one good example.

As to next year's team, well, new QB, many changes. Much to be seen. But the same very small group is already actively trying to spin it.

Look at their record from last year. That's all you need.

So 75......what exactly was.....my expectations.....for last year.....
I'm reasonably certain that, if anybody cared, you would have told them that Coach Stitt was

1) going to blame certain elements of the team for its crappy attitude;
2) going into games already defeated,
3) that the string of losses was all his fault,
4) that the team needed a "counselor" to come in to deal with "team problems,"
5) that moral had collapsed,
6) that the Division 2 Executive coaches were disrespected by the career Division 1 assistants,
7) that the Head Coach needed to take the post-season and re-think his approach,
8) that the team was as united as ever and had more unity than any team in the past 20 years,
9) that he (Stitt) had screwed it up,
10) that "it" must have been the Quarterback's fault.

But, since no one cared what you thought, that record was not developed further except by your endless congratulations of yourself.

I don't think I've ever seen a coach go through so many permutations of "blame" in a season as Coach Stitt, even as after each new defeat, there was a new all-encompassing blame. Remarkably, these escalating variations of blame became contradictory and parody. He has, in fact, done what I have never seen before: he has publicly blamed everyone and everything. If there is a cogent analysis of "what went wrong" you're not going to get it from this Coach until somebody nails his foot to the floor.

Lesson learned?

Well, we will see, won't we?

The plus side is "it can't get worse." The question is, can it improve enough based on the developed record? Stitt really, really wants to be personally in charge of this offense. Based on developed record, would you defend the risk?

We get it. You've been burned by poor predictions in the past so won't make any now that you could be criticized for in the future. So fragile. Didn't someone smart once say "Better to be thought a coward than proved one"? Keep supplying the proof, keep digging this hole.

Here's my prediction. The Griz will win more games this year than you predict, if you ever decide to man-up on the question.
Well, thanks for the fabricated history. It must be all you've got.

Early on, I specifically pointed out (Seasone 1), that we were showing odd patterns with QB rotations: we'd have a great first game, then declining results. At that point, we had three QB rotations, with the same pattern. We were embarking on the fourth rotation -- same result.

As the second year started, there were plenty of complaints from the team and staff. Stitt, in his usual fashion, kept changing his "blame" on a weekly basis; finally to the point of having blamed everything and everbody.

Remember this parade of geniuses?

1. Griz- We got another year under Stitt's system, hes got HIS guy at D coordinator. Talented roster, lots of battle tested kids returning.

Continuity, depth at QB, depth in general, running backs, -gregorak, Justin Strong.

Relax, the befuddled DC is gone.

Anybody who ranks UM lower than #3 is high.

And brain dead.
Well, you geniuses lost.

New season; new hopes. Isn't that the point of sports, instead of continually re-reading retreads by tired old hacks who got it wrong in the first place, and can't let go.

Go Griz!

And oh, the irony of your last sentence. It escapes no one but you.

Nice try. Your curiosity about yourself will have to go ungratified for the public here. No one cares what your "expectations" might have been. Shockingly, they just don't matter to anybody but you. Good luck with that.

Now, "expectations" for the upcoming season? Remember? The "thread topic?"

I am reasonably certain everyone except people like you are hoping for the best. If it happens, great. If it doesn't, time to go. As a practical matter, I am not seeing evidence that a D2 coach of 15 years experience with a middling record translates well into a successful D1 level coach in a talented conference. Time will tell.

Your incessant efforts at psychological game-playing adds nothing to the conversation. You're NOT the focus of Grizzly football even though you seem to think you are.

well, at least 75 was able to prove that Daum's reason for leaving the kitten program was all Stitt's fault anyway.....just like he's always said it would be

....no posts.....drip with more....irony....than those of.....75.......if he were....only a fraction.....of how great.....he thinks he is......he would be.....Mother Teresa.....

I am glad you find me fascinating.

What it has to do with anything is known only to your badly bruised ego.

Reading comprehension. No. I didn't "ask." Not you.

Certainly a difference when 75 weighs in. At least he can communicate in complete sentences which is a relief from the xx...........xx............xx format that seems to suit a certain poster for whom written communication appears a challenge. 75 can certainly tighten some jaws on e-griz which I don't find a bad thing.

What's your prediction for next season 75?
That's a tall order, requires a lot of work, a great deal of specific knowledge about a variety of teams and coaches, and I don't have that at the moment. Some may think that they do, and it may be true. For my part, I won't presume. Refer to the list of presumptions for last year, and who made them.

There is a moral to that story.

It really isn't a tall order. This is a fan message board where people provide varying opinions. If someone is wrong on their opinion, it shouldn't matter to anyone who has a life. The only reason I asked for your opinion specifically is because you have been strongly critical of people's predictions last year, while not offering any concrete prediction of your own. In my opinion, that is chickenshit, and really very strange and odd behavior...

If you are not going to offer your opinion, you really shouldn't have the right to mock people who did. Hindsight is 20/20. You annoyingly write paragraphs worth of drivel to put down people by making arguments based on hindsight against people who who made casual estimates prior to the season. That does not make you smarter than them.

Anyways, glad you had fun spending all day posting on this board. I'm sure it'll be more of the same tomorrow...I recommend finding yourself a hobby though.

Looking through the schedule, all I want is for us to beat the teams we're supposed to beat, like Valpo, Savannah State, Portland State, Idaho State, Weber State, Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado. And beat North Dakota on homecoming and the Cats. I have too much family and friends for that not to be an important game. 9 games would be a solid season, put us back in the playoffs and bring back some respect.

And it doesn't look like that difficult of a schedule, honestly.
