Eli staying with Griz Nation!

And the proof of that is ...?
Bergen and Gillman stayed at UM even after what they went through. These coaches spent hours with them and many other players after the seasons were over to keep them here. Phone calls to parents etc. Ask their parents next time you chat.

Cool. The Huot brothers and some others (Hill) tailgate is near yours. I walk past yours and look for you at some games, but I can't remember what you look like. I hope I'm not getting old. Ha.
Yes, I haven't seen you in a few years. Next time, don't walk by without asking for me.

Assuming what you say is true, and I don't claim to know any players parents, then it would follow that the coach that hired these guys as assistants would get credited for that hire.
It may well be that those 2 coaches have a closer relationship with the players and their parents than Bobby does. Letting those coaches be the ones to do the talking would then be a smart move on Bobby's part.
Bergen and Gillman stayed last year. Gillman is coming back again.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Next season we will know if what happened this year was a blip or a trend.
We kick butt on the scats and have home playoff games until the natty next season and this year will again look like a blip. We get whupped by the neighbors in our house and barely get in the playoffs then I will be as loud a naysayer as anyone on this forum.

Great coaches don't have to beg kids to stay in an elite program.

Montana is and has been a poor to average program for over a decade now. One blip is just putting lipstick on a pig. It's only enough make up to fool most of you "good sheep"

So what makes some of you believe that a Griz Coach had to "beg" Eli to stay? Did you ever stop to think, maybe he likes Missoula and wanted to stay on his own?
Hey, his mom may have come out and said that Montana, Missoula, the fans and coaches won him over as the reason he decided to stay, but I dunno if I can trust her.

It's much more likely some guy pretending to be an ex-player on an anonymous message board is right.

Ask Dawn the next time you see her. One of the caveats to Eli coming back, was that his mom gets an apology for comments made after the SDSU game, from said offending coach. He didn't apologize and made another coach make the call. This is one of the reason why Eli is back, he had offers from FBS schools for6 times the money UM paid him to stay. Eli stayed because of a pledge he made to himself about Griz football before he showed up here. He wants to be great, he wants to be a Griz legend

It is the same people claiming that dozens of players would be leaving. They are just trolls, and angry Griz fans who talk so much negativity to each other that they believe they actually know something about the program being in shambles and everyone hating to play for Hauck and this staff. There is plenty of heartbreak after last year, but the kids don't hate it here. The portal has been open for years, and we rarely lose players to moving up, dropping down, or moving laterally.
