Eli staying with Griz Nation!

I wish I had kept the receipts from the people saying that the Gillmans hate Bobby Hauck and that Eli will be gone.

I'm also not seeing the "dozens" of players leaving that some predicted, nor are were seeing a massive exodus of the sophomore class that some people claimed were going to leave because they aren't getting their shot on the field.

Almost like the sky isn't falling, and we shouldn't listen to the drama that some people stir up around the program constantly. Weird.

I was introduced to the mom in 2023, and now run into to her before games and on the field. She's very nice and always seems totally excited about everything Griz and Missoula. I've talked to the little brother a few times. He's nice and little shyer. It's cool that the brothers can be at UM together and play together.

Dawn, Eli's mom, comes to my tailgate every game she is at. She and her family are super nice people, and we are very happy to share with them at our tailgate.

This is amazing. Great job Griz Nation. I hope we retain a few under similar circumstances. I message needs to be sent that sometimes personal utility and lifestyle/culture mean more than money. The money will come through the hard work ethic and long term goals they set to continue to support their teammates and community.

In fairness Elrod, the majority of the players that were good enough to move “upward” have left.

I mean, some of that is very subjective about which players could move up or play up, but I wasn't referring only to kids who could move up.

There have been many statements made on here about how many kids would leave because "the program is a disaster" or whatever else. The implication wasn't that it was the kids who wanted to move up, but that dozens of players would be leaving because they hate it here. I don't see them entering the portal to go to other FCS schools, I don't hear that dozens have quit the team to go find an NAIA home. It just doesn't seem to be happening, and I wish I had kept receipts on who had said that was definitely coming down the pipe.

Cool. The Huot brothers and some others (Hill) tailgate is near yours. I walk past yours and look for you at some games, but I can't remember what you look like. I hope I'm not getting old. Ha.
