Early look at the possible 2017 2-deep

It would appear so. Speaking on behalf of a grateful egriz, please don't do anything rash with your avatar dawg.

well i was going to change it to a Rottweiler or a Doberman Pinscher but since you asked not to change it, i wont..

I think Curran's starting spot is on notice. Seems to be a good kid that works hard, and hopefully last season's inconsistencies motivates him to get better. He struggled to get separation from DBs most of his catches (or drops) were with a DB all over him. I am hoping the Griz find that receiver next year that can take the top off of a coverage and be that deep threat. I think Calhoun showed some promise there and maybe one of the redshirts will step up too.

And yet he led the team in TD receptions and was close to JLM in yards with less catches

The thing you have to remember about JLM is that, on average, all of his yards are YAC. I haven't gone over every one of his catches, but I'll bet he averaged receiving the ball no further than right at the line of scrimmage (lots of receptions several yards behind the LOC and a few downfield). That's the nature of his position. So he has probably an easier time making a catch (lots of passes in the backfield without a defender near him, doesn't have to run a great route to get open), but the yards he generates are often through a large thicket of defenders heading his way after he makes the catch near the line of scrimmage.

KC, on the other hand, made his receptions, on average, much further downfield, so he gets the credit for more yards just because of where he catches the ball (in the design of the offense).
