Eagles New field

saw only a very brief view of field on KPAX Sports last night...

my flat screen HD showed a very bright red, hard to look at on tv....understand that perhaps the rubber pellets may tone it down a bit , BUT even a brief view may me wonder how watching an entire game may be the receipe for migranes.

I LOVE THE NEW EAGLE TURF!

Think about it for a second. The Eagles wear red on red on red. How in the world is the QB going to spot receivers when they blend right into the turf.

The same way the Boise State QB does. Their lines-of-sight are parallel with the surface, not perpendicular or several yards above it like fans and cameras.

It will suck for the fans, not the players.

The Oregon Ducks are the foolish ones, painting the walls around the field Duck green. That would screw with a QB.

I dont know......maybe throw to the black or white numbers running around on the red background? :?

Not throw at the white jerseys?

Throw to his guys not ours?

:? :? :? :? :?

...and there's talk of painting the track black, which would be awesome.
Sounds very hot on a eastern Washington sunny day. Whatever floats your boat.

Great pics. Looks pretty awesome! Well, except for the color. ;)

Thanks for sharing. Congrats.

We look forward to kicking your asses in the first game on the new field.

Go Griz!

Quick! Somebody get on Google Earth and take measurements to make sure it is more than 95 yards long!
:shit:

Not a whole lot of progress being made

Maybe the Griz need to start looking for a supplier of glasses with lens that have the lower half of the lens colored red to help them prepare for the game? It would be far from perfect and other than that I can't think of any realistic way to prepare for it. I believe that Boise's blue field does confer an advantage and that partly explains the 31 straight home wins. Just as I believe that the loudness at WA Griz is a significant advantage but at least other teams can try to prepare by playing ioud music or noise. It would be interesting to find a way to prepare for something that you are likely to only see every two years.

Just got back from visiting a friend in Rathdrum over the weekend. We rode our motorcycles over by EWU to see the progress on the field and I left this 14" deep. I deemed it to be around the 5 yard line as you are looking at the stadium......it would be on the right.

This guy asked us what we were doing and my friend told him he looked like the guy from Walker, Texas Ranger. He didnt say anything except we cant go onto the field and have a nice day

And whats really cool is the under the powdercoat that fob is laser etched "FTG"

It certainly is a lighter shade of red than I expected. It seems more of a dark orange rather than the crimson we saw in early renditions. Their uniforms look to be several shades darker than their field - was that planned or did someone screw up?

it's unique, i'll give 'em that. if we had a maroon field everyone would be hating it and we would be loving the hate...kinda like ewu is doing now, loving the hate.

:?

Now, how can we witness the beautiful red-turf for ourselves? Apparently, they are forcing us Griz fans to join (and donate to) the EAA in order to purchase tickets to the Griz-EWU game. This requirement only applies to the Montana game. You can buy tickets to the others games, no hassles. WTF? Anyone else look into this scam?

I think the idea is we're trying to fill the stadium with EWU fans, and not Grizzlies (which is going to happen anyway). I believe Sept 1st anyone will be able to purchase tickets to this game, OR you can talk to me, an EAA member with 4 tickets on the 20 yardline i might not be able to use (apparently birth of my first child is more important, at least if you ask my wife). Of course, normally I don't scalp tickets, but there would be of course a griz fan tax for me to sell my soul like that:)

That's good stuff, Edub!
