Lets see can all you Pencil Necked Geek prairie chicken fans say 25-10-1! That is the all time record between the GRIZ vs. the directional Washington school. If you wanna run with the dogs, you gotta stop pissin like the pups!

It appears that's all you can repeat, and has nothing to do with this thread. Go join DJsucksonballs and go play in traffic. SMFH.

Props to Roos for donating $500,000 to his alma mater after signing a fat NFL paycheck. I'm digging the red turf, if for no other reason it gives us another reason to (good-heartedly) hate EWU more. They're gonna get a lot of national (at least regional) publicity out of this. I just wish they'd 86 the track around the field. tracks always ruin the football stadium atmosphere. There's got to be plenty of room out their in the sticks to lay the track down somewheres else. This is, and always was, the worst multi-use stadium idea created. It's not like track events need huge stadiums to hold the few fans who watch these things, outside of Columbus,Ohio or Eugene,OR,which has it's own track Field.

Now, how can we witness the beautiful red-turf for ourselves? Apparently, they are forcing us Griz fans to join (and donate to) the EAA in order to purchase tickets to the Griz-EWU game. This requirement only applies to the Montana game. You can buy tickets to the others games, no hassles. WTF? Anyone else look into this scam?

This is the price you pay for having a dedicated and rabid fan base. They know that Griz fans will generally make the necessary adjustments in order to see our team play. I would also guess that this is not the case for the other games as it is the first game on the new turf. I would also think that ESPN will be their for the first game if only to get a shot of the red field, could be a nice little bump for the Griz.

EWU's Red Turf Project Ahead of Schedule
Jul 27, 2010

The actual red Sprinturf product is scheduled to be shipped and will arrive in Cheney, Wash., as early as Aug. 2 as the prep work for Eastern Washington University's Red Turf Project is nearing completion.

The project is two weeks ahead of schedule, with actual installation of turf beginning as soon as possible once the product arrives. The projected completion date is still listed as Sept. 3, with the inaugural game on the red turf taking place Sept. 18 versus Montana, scheduled to start at 4:05 p.m. Pacific time.

"The project has benefited from great weather and a strong effort from Pauletto Trucking and Excavation to be ahead of schedule," said Michael Westfall, executive director of the EWU Foundation and project lead. "With a tight timeframe, we remain hopeful to complete the project early to allow as much additional practice time on the field as possible for what promises to be a great season."

"Soaring" where? Seems like an appropriate word to use when referring to the Eagles' field. I think perhaps you meant "sore."

Look at how washed out those guys are on that turf. Their legs blend in and they are not even wearing red. Just think about trying to watch players in red uniforms on the TV or Internet.

:yikes:

Oh well. It is theirs to live with for a long time.

Wow, that is way to bright red, that is gonna look tacky as all hell. As long as the Eastern kids like it I guess. What ever blow's your skirt up right? I am so glad the Griz have a GREEN field.

As if the Big Sky wasn't already the laughing stock of the football world.

I can see it already.

Big Ten Grad Reporter: "How hard was it to adjust to the NFL coming from a conference like the Big Sky?"

Mariani: "It's been different, this is a great experience."

Big Ten Grad Reporter: "At least you don't have to play on that red turf anymore, huh?"

Mariani: *slaps own forehead with palm*

Can we *PLEEEASE* get out of this joke of a conference?

I understand what they are getting at. A new playing surface is nice and he color makes for a topic of conversation and may help with some recruiting. If they can get on a roll and garner more financial support for the program then they can improve seating, facilities, etc. Best of luck to them. Not a fan of it myself. It took me 3 years to warm up to our own sprinturf, but i do believe in the long run it has helped our program.

As ugly as it is.... the color will be mutted when they add 3 inches of rubber pellets to it....

How soft will the field be? It looks like thin carpet over dirt. Will this be like our field or more like ISU’s?
