I'm definitely still in the Stitt camp. People who want him removed after two seasons are likely 1. stupid 2. don't know anything about football 3. like to piss and moan despite who the coach is (unless it's Bobby Hauck) 4. Will not be happy unless we are 11-0 with semi-final appearances or better every single season.
Here's the thing. Bob ain't going anywhere this offseason. You might as well get to your safe spaces, cry it out, and come back in August. That's reality, deal with it.
Replacing Bob right now would be the most moronically stupid thing the AD could do. You're going to be paying a buyout (at the cost to the U and the taxpayers). You're going to set the program development back at least two more years (which means more losses). And who are you going to get to come coach a program knowing that you can be fired after two years at an FCS school because you don't win a national championship in your first or second year. Coaches want job security for themselves and their assistants, so some fans on here and the Twitter that insist that the coaching staffs aren't trying, etc are more moronically stupid.
That said, I was having this conversation earlier with some -very- prominent eGriz posters.. when is the last time we had a -good- quarterback that was playing within the system he was suited for? The answer? Probably Jordy in 2011.. anyone else notice how the team has struggled a bit since then? I wonder if there's a correlation there.. you know, changing coaches, changing philosophies, player development, etc. That's what happens when you've had four coaches since 2009.
How about we see how this one shakes out before we start firing coaches and actually let a coach get his players and staff in here and see if we can start winning consistently. We're on year two of this offense with quite a few players recruited for a different philosophy, and year one of a defense that also changed how it went about business.
I'll close with this.. Craig Bohl was 4-8 his first year at Wyoming, the fan base saw progress. Craig Bohl was 2-10 his second year at Wyoming and the pinheads of the fanbase (like quite a few on this message board) thought we should fire Bohl, fire Vigen, fire the AD, clean house, etc. Wyoming in year three is one win from hosting the Mountain West title game, two wins away from being Mountain West champions.
Come at me.
