My education came via way of the United States Air Force. 39+ years....

My education came way after Graduating @ UM working @ Malmstrom AFB! Met tons of great folks there! Saw David Robinson while he was playing for the Armed Forces Basketball Team! Guess What - He Dominated!

Both wife and I undergrad in 2000. We have a long legacy at UM.

Two kids, ages 15&13 that both graduated from UM. Son works in the athletic department here. Daughter got her Masters at USC, and currently works in the athletic department there.

Son is being recruited by both Griz and Cats, but probably leaning MSU. We were on the sideline for the Superbowl, and he’s now considering going back to work for KC Chiefs in some capacity. Other son already works in NFL front office.

My other daughter is being recruited to Stanford for basketball, but I am hoping she chooses UM. It’s a tough decision for her having played for Robin Selvig in the past. We’ll see what happens. Other son is a playing football here as a junior, and less than thrilled with the recent coaching changes.

I have been up a while this morning so maybe I am reading this wrong.
"Two kids, ages 15&13 that both graduated from UM."
How old were your kids when they started UM to both have graduated by ages15 and 13? Is your son named Sheldon?

You didn't read it wrong...it's just a fantastic post poking a certified moron on here.

No, went out of state, to Utah State. I graduated from USU with a BS in Accounting. Lately, I kind of wish I had stayed home and went to either UM or MSU.

I know almost nothing about Utah State, so I'm curious, what makes you say that?

It was ok, nothing against it. They had a good accounting program. I live in Indiana now, so when I go home I go to Montana. I haven't been to Logan or anywhere in Utah in over 20 years. Not being LDS I probably would fit in a little better in Montana. People were ok to me, I never felt discriminated against or anything.

I think mainly I may have had more lasting friendships with people in Montana. Since I return to Montana every now and then to visit family. I did enjoy my time at USU.

That makes complete sense, thanks. :thumb:

That’s probably a requirement that should still be in place the more I think about it. I’d say about 70% of disciplinary actions I see from the Bar stem from some sort of client trust accounting issues. Where did you end up getting your ticket, Goat?
A basic understanding of accounting principles has been critical to a lot of my litigation work. I did not apply to any CA law schools, mostly because I was concerned about adjusting to life in a real city. Rejected by Michigan, ended up at Cornell, but I rarely bring up where I attended. Ithaca is a lot like Missoula, though without real mountains but with cool waterfalls and gorges. The only genuine sports enthusiasm for the Big Red was for hockey. Joe Nieuwendyk played when I was there. Don Read came to UM while I was gone, so it was a nice change for UM football when I returned home.

I spent most of my time in the Chem and Health Sciences building graduating when Heathcote coached and basketball was king. I spent many an evening at the Fieldhouse watching McKenzie, Hays, Richardson and Robin Selvig play among others. Congratulations to Coach Selvig on a well deserved honor.
The football program and games were a reason to drink beer on Saturday afternoon in the old stadium. It was still fun but just not very satisfying.
My only claim to athletic involvement was getting run over by Coach Heathcote in the lobby of the Fieldhouse. He stop, helped me pick up my books and of course apologized. Later that day I heard he was offered the Michigan State job and was on his way to the airport.
I returned to Billings after graduating and had a successful career in business due in large part to my technical education from the University.
I drove with a friend, well known local sports broadcaster, to the first Griz Cat Game in the new Wahington Grizzly Stadium. We both had a great time and he got invited to the broadcast both for a bit.
I return as often as I can and have enjoyed watching the evolution of WaGriz. A few years back while we were relaxing on or deck,my wife and I saw a bright yellow airliner fly overheard. I was curious about that flight and checked on flight radar to discover it was headed to Missoula. It originated at Monmouth NJ.
After finding that out I asked her if she would like to go to the game and she said yes. We had a great time.
At one point we discussed retiring to the Missoula area but the housing prices have put a stop to that.
Griz for a long time and forever. Go Griz!

By any chance, are you the guy who flies his F-18 and parks it at Holman Aviation, when he "comes home" to visit family? If so, I don't know how you manage to get the Navy to OK your side trips, but its OK with me. I live on final approach, so I get to see the 'out of the ordinary' craft that come to town. I know the sound of your engines because you always come in too fast for the first approach, so have to loop around and land on #2. Noisy piece of machinery.

Now you know why I don't bring it up unless asked and I believe it's the first time I've been asked on here. I'm really just a "northside river rat" from Havre, which has little going for it other than Nalivka's Pizza Kitchen because the Corner Bar was razed years ago.

I grew up in Missoula, took a couple of post bac classes at UM after graduating from Tech. Dreamed of going to MIT most of my life, but the school simply wasn't accepting a WASP out of Montana. Got accepted at most of the major schools I applied for including WVU, OkSU, MissSt and Texas A&M. Was going to A&M but at last minute decided it was better to go to Tech, and then after two years reapply at MIT. However I liked Butte, and the school so stayed and graduated. Never looked back. Lived on Fairview in Missoula as a very young 3-5 year old, but remember cars parking in front of our house on gameday.
