Defense

Defense did not play well. Period. Anyone suggesting otherwise is just a homer. I ignore hoops and Helena now so I can see that they post but not what they say, but I imagine they’re basically claiming that the defense is fine. They’re predictable that way. It’s freaking laughable to suggest that this defense is playing well. What’s sad is I think we’ve got the jimmys and joes to be successful defensively, but we’ve got a scheme that’s consistently exposed, especially the secondary.

We're 10th in passing Defense before this game, i expect it to be 11th or 12th even after today.

*EWU 3rd string QB, which makes it worse, granted the Offense absolutely contributed to the Defensive issues today, but we haven't been good defending against the pass for a hot minute now.

Additionally we lost another DB today. Idk who we have left back there but it's getting razor thin. Might have to start playing Harper at corner

The QB was afraid of our D. Especially when he got up under center for the first time and got close to him. He panicked. 57 was right in hm too. The refs made all of the long plays for the ewu O, not the Ewu O. Learn the game. The D stepped up big. As I have said, you don’t understand football.
 
What is the deal with Loud? When will he be back? He is BY FAR our best CB. Other teams are abusing us without him. Nobody could cover Pruett, and as others have said even a 3rd-string frosh had a field day.

I'm not sure but man we are missing several, several guys on that side of the ball. It's concerning

I said the D stepped up. Your a fool if you think the refs made all the long plays for the EWU O though.

A defense that gives up 457 yards passing to an inexperienced freshman qb and an offense that scores 15 points a game is Player Rep’s dream team.
 
I agreed with every interefernce call against the Griz. You could complain that they didn't call intereference on EWU on Bohannon once, but every Griz penalty was deserved. Not calling ANYTHING when Ah Yat clearly threw the ball and they initially ruled (kinda) that it was a fumble was reversed,so the refs had nothing to do with the game,IMO.

EWU didn't have their top 2 QBS,their #1 RB and their #1 WR/Kick returner/punt returner (who had ALL their kick and punt returns on the season) but others picked up the slack. Who else are we missing? I'm not saying you're wrong about that,but I think EWU was missing far-more important pieces than we were.
