If you have to talk your way into a contract, that’s not a good sign. Stitt may be a great guy and offensive mind, but it’s clear as day that he’s not the coach that will take the Griz to the level they should be. If you’re going to higher a lower division coach, you get a guy who is a winner...national championship winner. Stitts record aT CSM is just ok. I don’t care that he had limitations there, not our problem. Coaches that aren’t winners don’t magically turn into winners at a higher division school. He’s like Sark at UW...recruits skill positions great but can’t build the program.grizghost said:blegriz said:Copper Griz said:Ursus1 said:If true then Stitt ran over Haslam....which means Haslam should be fired for letting a coach be the one to make the decisions following very disappointing seasons. That is very poor leadership
Well, it is likely not true. Seriously, someone is trolling big time here. Nobody, other than a select few know what will happen. Don't buy into this crap.
You are correct that only a select few know. Where you are wrong is saying “what will happen.” It’s already happened. Those who have close ties to the program will hear about this in the coming days. The idea is to let the news leak slowly(why do you think I posted). Everyone realizes that tempers are hot right now but what’s right for the program is not to make a crazy and rash decision. Once the wheels have been greased a bit an official announcement will be made.
As far as the discussion, Bob didn’t run over anyone. He made a simple point that recruits want some sort of stability, hence the two years. But he is also willing to put his money where his mouth is and accept that if those two years don’t bear fruit he’ll be in trouble. He is so sure of the programs direction he agreed to what would be a very low buyout for year 3. It was a fair deal for both sides. Coach has the time to finish this project and show the Griz faithful his vision while offering an out for the athletic department if he doesn’t come through. Of course he wants the power to make football decisions, like who is on his staff, that is what a head coach does.
sound like another snake oil salesman..
Hiring a new coach will not set the program back years...a new coach, presumably better, would have a better record next year than Stitt and would continuously improve. The defense looks poorly coached and when the O is stymied, Stitt has absolutely no answers.
Have we seen any halftime adjustments on either side of the ball? Ever?
