17 posts all in favor of Stitt. Is that you Robert?

No but I’m a fan. To accomplish what he has without his QB can’t be taken for granted. I started posting only this season and only because of reading this craziness about cutting ties with Stitt. I’ve been a mid level donor for years and while I don’t have the cash to be one of the major players I have had the luck to get to know many of them at hundreds of functions over the years. This idea that our major donors want Stitt gone is ludicrous. Maybe some do, but the majority are supportive and understand that switching systems will be detrimental to the program.

Good to hear, and who knows - there might be some new ones coming aboard because of it.

Today’s donors like the refreshing absence of this stuff:

http://missoulian.com/news/local/griz-arrests-tied-to-drug-related-robbery/article_bc266148-6b43-526d-831a-a8f189784e95.html

If true then Stitt ran over Haslam....which means Haslam should be fired for letting a coach be the one to make the decisions following very disappointing seasons. That is very poor leadership

Well, it is likely not true. Seriously, someone is trolling big time here. Nobody, other than a select few know what will happen. Don't buy into this crap.

You are correct that only a select few know. Where you are wrong is saying “what will happen.” It’s already happened. Those who have close ties to the program will hear about this in the coming days. The idea is to let the news leak slowly(why do you think I posted). Everyone realizes that tempers are hot right now but what’s right for the program is not to make a crazy and rash decision. Once the wheels have been greased a bit an official announcement will be made.

As far as the discussion, Bob didn’t run over anyone. He made a simple point that recruits want some sort of stability, hence the two years. But he is also willing to put his money where his mouth is and accept that if those two years don’t bear fruit he’ll be in trouble. He is so sure of the programs direction he agreed to what would be a very low buyout for year 3. It was a fair deal for both sides. Coach has the time to finish this project and show the Griz faithful his vision while offering an out for the athletic department if he doesn’t come through. Of course he wants the power to make football decisions, like who is on his staff, that is what a head coach does.

So we’ve heard:

he was getting offered a 3 year extension if he beat the cats, a 1 year extension if he lost,

He balked at the idea of signing a 1 year deal

He will be offered a 2 year extension with a reduced buyout after 1

Now, a 2 year with a reduced buyout after 3

Just trying to keep track

Stay tuned for tomorrows version, this contract keeps growing...

All from a "dude"with zero leverage.

Not sure Stitt's plan survives - pretty toxic.

Making those decisions on who is on staff has really worked out....for the bobcat 3rd and long play calls. Someone needs to start a GoFund site to buy Haslam a backbone and a couple testicles if little ego boy called the shots as it seems.

As for letting it slip out but by bit rather than an announcement from the department is a horrible way to do it....very unprofessional, underhanded and a sign he knows he screwed up

Stitt's tenure as coach has been a disaster. If he gets a contract renewal, we have officially entered clown world.
