Decibel level

But playing at home in December is dependent on winning at a place that’s been downright cruel to past Eagles teams, and promises to be loud today. Sound-measuring devices are in place at the 25,217-seat stadium, poised to measure a possible FCS noise record when Eastern has the ball.

But as one Eastern assistant said on the sideline, “Maybe we can set the quiet record if we can get a couple of long scores.”

The Internet smack-talk – on both sides – has already set some school records for volume and vitriol. The Eagles expect the same from the crowd, which promises to be up-close-and-personal behind the Eagles bench.

Cool quote! Left out the part about Shoota's threats, but still pretty cool!

So where does this stand? Was in NEZ today but not center, a little high on East corner. I was disappointed with the fans around us. Bunch of sit downer cry babies for the most part.

Crowd noise today reached 111 decibels, which broke the record for noise in the stadium. Not sure how that ranks with other FCS stadiums.

What was up with the majority of fans in the west side of NEZ all sitting down and not being loud after a couple EWU first downs??? I am talking about when the game was still close.

UM announced 111 - however Alpha measured 117.3 in the north endzone. I was fairly disappointed with the "help" the UM gave in organizing this, but there's a lot of moving pieces and the gameday folks focus on a lot more than just that.

I too was disappointed with the "help" by the U. Didn't seem like it was a whole lot different than any other time (during the game that is) as far as getting the crowd wound up at strategic times and letting them know how they were doing as far as decibels.
