In general, football (and all sports for that matter) is something of a microcosm of life, one that is predicated upon failure. Sure you can measure 5 - 6 this season against 11 - 3 last season and find less failure in last year's campaign, but nonetheless, last year ended with a loss too. There is such a simplistic, yet profound greatness in GG's signature quote from Vince Lombardi. "The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall." Those words are relevant far beyond the scope of competitive sports; they apply to pretty much everything we do. And in the realm of Griz football, every person associated with the program has an equal opportunity to address the failures and rise up again.
The important thing to remember, in my opinion, is the one constant that is shared by every poster on this board -- and that constant is passion. Even Bobcat fans have passion for Griz football; sure, in many cases, it's a negative passion, but a passion nonetheless. It doesn't matter if the poster is male, female, an android or whatever, what matters is the passion that lives inside those posts. This is a place for conversation, for agreement and for disagreement about something that we are passionate about. If no one cared, there would be no posts. It's not a matter of whether a poster is a good poster or a bad poster; that's for personal interpretation. What matters is that Griz football, in one form or another, lives inside us all. I woke up as a proud Griz yesterday and I woke up as one again today (although I sure would like to get hold of that comedian who snuck into my room and carpeted my tongue last night while I was passed out; damn, if I'd have known I was going to be this thirsty today, I would have drank more yesterday/last night) and I will wake up proud to be a Griz tomorrow.
