with the kick off at the 35 and touchbacks now comming out to the 25 it seems like its not a bad strategy kicking it higher and deep near the goal line as apposed to pounding it out of the back of the endzone. Seems like i see that alot more now days...and it makes sence....coverage teams get down there, make a play well before the runner makes the 25 yardline (if your kick coverage team does its job)......i dont see a huge upside of just pounding it out of the back of the endzone and giving them the 25 yardline when if you execute properly you have a legit shot of pinning em deeper. Also depends on if the opposing team has a dynamic return man of course, sometimes its not worth giving the guy a shot at a return

No...I do understand why people do want him gone. And, as a female who only began learning football in 2000 (at age 26), I have a lot to learn about the nuances and can't relate to being on the field in uniform. I have learned a lot, but see the game, often, in metaphors and as the bigger, whole picture. I have seen many reasons to be frustrated with certain play calls and strategies by coaches this season. But, I believe in growth, learning by mistakes and think that Delaney was unprepared to take this job this year. Doesn't mean he won't come back better, more ready and having learned from his mistakes how to do it right. (Just like Chris L - he should learn and come back to try again next year).

Why do keep mentioning that you are a female? You're only furthering the stereotype that females are unable to understand football.

I mention it to point out a different perspective, not lack of knowledge. I know a lot more about the game and the Griz than many men. But, growing up a girl, I did not play the game, nor did my friends and I discuss the rules and strategies of football growing up.

hahaha classic! i sometimes wonder where he comes up with it myself...seems i have been in some arguments and thought about looking up the stats but figured that would take all night haha....then replying to my post he backs up my argument for me with a massive list of stats the guys from ESPN would be proud to produce haha...very nice!

The old MontanaGrizzlies.com site was loaded with useful information, videos, and stats. Unfortunately it's been replaced by that atrocity gogriz.com which is loaded with ads and "Pay us to listen to the radio" links instead.

Before MontanaGrizzlies.com shut down I saved some stuff like the old media guides, and anything else that I found useful, since I knew a good chunk of that wouldn't be on the new site

The NCAASports.com site has a lot of stats too that go back quite a ways..nothing much on kickers, but it's useful for other stuff.

I would be some $$ that their kicking percentages were worse than Lider as freshmen. I am not making any excuses for missing a 23 yard fg, but there are a lot of parts to a succesful kick, such as snap, hold, blocking. The fact some kicks have been blocked probably made him rush the kick, which usually results in a dead pull, which is what happenned.

One of the issues is that he takes too long to get to the ball. Lider also doesn't finish straight thru with his hips.
