We've been watching a lot of the other non-power conference championship tournaments. Many, if not most of the time, the crowd have been rather sparse and not particularly fired up.

Right now, however, the crowd at the Atlantic Sun championship game (North Florida vs SC Upstate) is absolutely going nuts. It's been a close, back-and-forth game, so they have a lot to cheer about.

Let's hope the crowd gets into the games as well in Missoula.

GO GRIZ! :egriz:

Edit: North Florida wins, and goes to the Big Dance for the first time in their history.

If the crowd at Dahlberg is anything like it was when we last hosted a few years ago, it'll definitely be a crazy atmosphere! :thumb:

Seemed like the best place to put this.

Currently watching the Northeastern Conference championship, with St. Francis-Brooklyn playing Robert Morris. Not a bad game ... back and forth. The crowd is really, really jacked-up. Too bad there aren't many of them. I, truly, have seen bigger, more impressive gymnasiums-with-stands at middle schools. Sad, really.

You can (almost) see why the NCAA milks programs that make money. This "championship" matchup would perhaps do well to break even financially, and probably doesn't (even with the TV money).

Edit: GO GRIZ! :egriz:

I could have put this in the foul shooting thread, but decided to do it here. With time left, behind by 3, an SF-Brooklyn player was fouled trying a three-pointer (a really dumb move by the Robert Morris defender). Basically, crappy foul shooting cost the player a chance to be a hero and tie the game. He missed the first two badly, and then could not even hit the rim (required) to make the third a live ball for a final rebound and "hope shot."
