Is that me? This is the first I heard him cleaning up, and I highly doubt it. I suspect a trainer or equipment person had it done right away. I know he took an interview immediately after the game and then I think he hit the locker room pretty quick. I'm guessing he wishes he could have that interview question back. Tough for anybody to get in front of a camera in that emotional state. I did go back and rewatch the trashcan video again, and I agree it was probably about 30 seconds of work. The reaction over would indicate Tommy created a Superfund site and that's the reason the game moved to Nashville.

Question: If the trashcan episode showed up in the LV Raiders scouting of Tommy, do you think it increased his draft stock, decreased his draft stock, or didn't matter?
A superfund site? He knocks over a trash can...they have to move the natty? Coincidence? I think not...

The Raiders have had a lot of poor character guys. I doubt they had any issue with knocking over trash cans when they have brought in guys like Antonio Brown and Richie Incognito. This is the same team that was famous for late hits on John Elway in the 90s. The Raiders have always been proud of having low character players.

And if I am not mistaken, Colter is a UM alum.
It’s obvious, and rightly so, that Colter is very frustrated with the lack of communication and the tone of said communication from Bobby. He understands who he’s dealing with but it makes his livelihood difficult with Bobby’s unwillingness to really talk football rather than simply answer questions he deems worthy like he’s been prepped for a deposition. On the other hand, Choate and Vigen have been very cooperative with the media. Why wouldn’t Colter not like doing his job more with MSU football coaches? They make his job easier and provide him real content. Obviously, the coaches see that they are selling their program and promoting their university. Bobby has unfortunately missed the opportunity. I like and respect Bobby a lot as a person and a coach except for this flaw. I’m not a hater taking shots at him.
And I’m going to get this off my chest while I’m rambling. Colter’s constant mid-sentence promos for his sponsors have made his show unlistenable. I know he has to pay the bills but wow…more promos than sports talk. Probably just me.

The last part is actually great feedback and will be taken into consideration. Thank you!

For everyone that thinks I hate Montana, I’ll just say:

It’s my alma mater, it’s my home town. I chose to build a statewide radio and TV show
From Missoula, not Bozeman. I chose to buy a house in Missoula. I purchase four season tickets every single year, give money to the university and consider many of the biggest fans of the Griz to be my best friends. Most of my best friends in college played for the Griz as did my brother. I host an ESPN College Game Day show before each Griz home game that takes priority over everything else on the Big Sky schedule.

Seems like a pattern of action for someone who hates UM and the Griz.

There is a little bit of truth to this. Yes, i'm sure he "likes" covering the can'ts better because the coaches are much more engaging. There is probably also a little bit of making sure he isn't UM bias because if I remember he went to school at UM.

Edit: well that's dumb. Somehow didn't see Colter's response. hahaha

Ya but you didn’t say why you hate us so much😁.

Yep, I’d say. Just like how all these bub trolls pretend to be Griz supporters on the surface only to turn around and troll Griz fans, apparently for attention (or clicks).

For example, remember when you advertised a pod cast that would explore how msdui screwed up, only to turn it into a Griz bash fest where you actually blamed MSdui’s mistakes on the “loser mentality” of Griz fans?

I think you do a great job. I enjoy your show and I think your coverage is fair. Jesus when local newspapers are being gutted we need as much local coverage as we can have. Whether that’s news or sports.

Colter does do a nice job. And I know he's a GRIZ fan.

But his unwillingness to ask the bobcat coaches and administration about their handling of the DUIs was shocking, given it should have been the largest sports story in the state that year, up until the point GRIZ went to the title game.

And to be perfectly frank, his seemingly indefensible position on the pod in which he tried to explain away his unwillingness to ask the difficult questions by blaming GRIZ fans for their passion was not only stunningly horrible and off-base, but also more than a little condescending. Alienating more than half your audience seems an odd business tactic, but I'm not in the radio game, so....

Again, I get that he supports UM. But it's clear to many he either doesn't respect or understand GRIZ Nation.

Also a bad post on current NFL MVP Josh Allen, who was a Vigen recruit and who was developed by Vigen. Vigen is quite literally invited to Josh's wedding at the end of the month, and he and gives plenty of credit to Vigen on his high draft pick and prolific NFL career.
I'm happy for Brent that he gets to attend Josh's wedding. I'm sure Josh and Brent have a great relationship but it's more to the fact that Brent believed in Josh and gave him a shot at a D1 college rather than that Brent developed Josh at the QB position. If you haven't already, you should read Josh's journey to Wyoming.

BTW, I didn't create the video or the news story that Josh Allen had serious mechanical issues with his throwing motion when he was drafted. If Vigen was so good at QB development, he would have fixed the issues while he was at Wyoming. Instead it took a true QB developer at the Bills to fix his motion. For more proof that Vigen didn't develop Josh at Wyoming "Allen’s final year in Laramie brought more questions than answers. The Wyoming QB finished the year with less than 200 passing yards a game, throwing for just 1,812 yards and 16 touchdowns in an 11-game season."

My experience around Bobby has always been upbeat and positive. I am not a personal friend but have listened to him on numerous on occasions. He may be a little stand-offish toward the media, but to his credit he has answered their questions. In the past he has received criticism publicly, do to his responses to some very challenging situations. I imagine he felt they kicked him while the chips were down. Most eGrizers understand the issues of that time. It was not a good situation. It is real hard to overcome that feeling of betrayal. Being a teacher and receiving criticism hurts at your core. The more public, the more hurt. Besides, If you ever listen to some questions offered by the media, I often wonder, how can a person not roll their eyes or come back with a smart ass remark. Bobby has a quick wit and could possibly just be biting his tongue and trying real hard to be socially correct. That takes personal discipline!

Bobby is in charge of 100 players more or less. He is the teacher, the leader. These are college age boys and he is channeling their energies into personal, professional, physical growth. He works many hours. He is a fine coach. That takes TIME. Maybe it would help if the local media worked really hard at building a positive relationship from their end. It takes effort to overcome the hurt he may have felt from reading or listening to some of their opinions. Add to the situation that many local journalists come and go, resulting in a natural barrier to overcome right from the start.

We recently talked with a former Griz player. He had a wonderful career here. He was and still is impressed with how well Bobby recruited him by selling the University, the town, the program, the players. One of the offshoots of that spirit is that he sells us as a very cool community

He is the best coach we will ever have here. Sit back and enjoy. If fans ever had a chance to listen to him for awhile, they would quickly know he is a fine coach and person. I do want to respond to criticisms of him. Over the years I have heard plenty of negative posts.

I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I just wanted to offer eGrizers biased my perspective!

Bobby Hauck makes more money as a “teacher” than 95% (probably higher) of tax payers in Montana. He should expect tough questions and his job duties require interacting with the press. That would include when you are down and losing. Not just victory speeches. Also, it would include when players behave poorly. Now, is he a good coach? Yes, definitely.
Now, about that tough questions thing, the MSDUI scandals was a ridiculous softball opportunity for any journalist. I don’t think Colter is being treated fairly in this instance. Every major news outlet should have been all over that story. It should have received five times the coverage. It shows you how poorly our media and journalists are performing. Colter does a good job and it appears he is trying to be unbiased. That’s was one whiff he and all Motana journalists cannot be given a pass on.

Correctamundo. Someday I may stop teasing him about his awful take and terrible troll job pod cast but only if he will finally own up to it, take responsibility, and apologize to Griz nation. Not sure why he refuses to do that simple thing as everyone else agrees he was dead wrong and super dumb—which, btw, seems like something a stubborn troll would do. Until then, he will continue to claim he doesn’t editorialize while editorializing about Griz nation having a loser mentality and I will continue to call him out.

Yeah he should just own both those: "look guys, I shit the bed by failing to do my job by demanding answers, then I not only stepped in on the pod but I unnecessarily and incorrectly tracked it all over GRIZ fans. Mea culpa".

I dont read or listen to his stuff. Dont need it.
His claim he is not a journalist while simultaneously claiming he is a journalist is amateur‐hour gibberish.

Signed,
Griz Nation Deplorable

Colter, you do a great job covering all sports in Montana. I for one appreciate all the time you put into your work.

Side note, don't give more than one second of your time to that jerkoff troll who obviously doesn't have a life, or clue.

Here's a newsflash for you, it's quite possible to be a fan/ booster of the football team and university while at the same time think a large portion of the fanbase can be total morons..

That includes a large portion of you that post on this site.

If you can't follow that logic, you belong to that group..

If you trying to promote self awareness would you agree that the large Cat fan base that chants Eat Shit Griz during the 3rd quarter of a game vs Mercyhurst would easily fit into that category?
