The Raiders have had a lot of poor character guys. I doubt they had any issue with knocking over trash cans when they have brought in guys like Antonio Brown and Richie Incognito. This is the same team that was famous for late hits on John Elway in the 90s. The Raiders have always been proud of having low character players.
Antonio Brown never dressed in a game. Richie Incognito played for 16 years only two with the Raiders. The image the Raiders had in the 60s through the 90s was fed a lot in the press. But they had some awesome characters. The dirtiest player the Raiders ever had was roided up Bill Romanowski who also played for the Broncos. BTW I enjoyed seeing Mr Ed getting hit. He was and always will be my least favorite NFL player. Just Win Baby.

"Here's a newsflash for you, it's quite possible to be a fan/ booster of the football team and university while at the same time think a large portion of the fanbase can be total morons.."

If you trying to promote self awareness would you agree that the large Cat fan base that chants Eat Shit Griz during the 3rd quarter of a game vs Mercyhurst would easily fit into that category?
Absolutly agree, that they would fit into that category..(y)

Same as posters who end their posts with ftc..

Soul, couple quick questions for you:

Do you believe Colter should have covered the complete failure of MSU's administration to properly address the DUI's from their coaching staff?

Do you believe it was accurate to blame "spoiled GRIZ fans" for his unwillingness to do so?

I don't believe it's any of my concern how a businessman chooses how to run his business if it doesn't

I don't believe it's any of my concern how Coulter wants to run his business, if he didn't want to cover it that's his perogitive, it's HIS business and HE gets to decide what to cover, not you.

What gives you or anybody else the right to tell anybody how to operate their business?

Imho if you don't like his context and what he's producing just don't read it.

How did he blame griz fans for his lack of coverage on the bobcat coaches duis'?

Question for you, did you go after the missoulian newspaper paper, and speltz as hard as you have for nuanez?

I think it is fair to ask why it wasn't covered more on news stations and newspapers. Colter is sports and sports talk. A lot of folks lean into those to get away from news. But as a public institution I think the actual news coverage should have been more. Who covered most of the controversies in Griz athletics over a decade ago? News reporters. So Griz fans were naturally frustrated when there was minimal coverage in the news media after what UM went through. Our local newspapers and TV stations have been gutted. They have fired a lot of veteran folks and replaced them with young inexperienced reporters. Just look at how poor the coverage was of the last session of Montana Legislature.

I'm already on record saying he can run his business any way he wishes; I just felt alienating more than half his consumer base is a questionable way.

You need to listen to the pod if you truly don't know how he blamed GRIZ fans. Your perception may well change.

yes. But they don't post on eGRIZ so....

The last part is actually great feedback and will be taken into consideration. Thank you!

For everyone that thinks I hate Montana, I’ll just say:

It’s my alma mater, it’s my home town. I chose to build a statewide radio and TV show
From Missoula, not Bozeman. I chose to buy a house in Missoula. I purchase four season tickets every single year, give money to the university and consider many of the biggest fans of the Griz to be my best friends. Most of my best friends in college played for the Griz as did my brother. I host an ESPN College Game Day show before each Griz home game that takes priority over everything else on the Big Sky schedule.

Seems like a pattern of action for someone who hates UM and the Griz.
I've said it before, but I'll always say it again. Skyline's coverage is second to absolutely none in the Big Sky, and second to none in any coverage of primarily an FCS coverage. I'd go as far as to also say the best overall FCS site. Houghton is a treasure in his feature writing. Thank you for all you guys do over there.

And Go Griz. Wish I had run into you for a beer when we were on campus.

Did the paper/speltz advertise that it/he would do a piece on the MSDUi embarrassment only to bait-n-switch and not only fail to do any investigation into MSDUi but also flip and somehow blame Griz nation for the misdeeds and proceed to call Griz fans names?

Are you positive he failed to do ANY investigation?

colter you do a great job covering sports in montana.

Colter, don't give that other jerkoff who is obviously trolling you a second of your day.
I love it when bub trolls try to stick up for each other on here. It’s pathetically hilarious. Misery loves company, I guess.
Colter is a big boy and I’m sure he can defend himself if he wanted to and doesn’t need you crying and sobbing (“leave colter alone!”). However, he chooses not to address his horrible pod for some crazy reason. He’s had a million chances to come on here, apologize, own up, fall on his sword, etc. and we would probably stop teasing him and move on, but instead he continues to double down by claiming he doesn’t editorialize. What a joke.

(Other) EG, this may well all be the case. But two things can simultaneously be true, and your post ignores the elephant in the room. I agree it's nice to have skyline since newspapers have gutted sports reporting. But his failure to press msu on the DUI's was astounding, and his blaming of spoiled GRIZ fans for it worse. It's fair to call him out on those things.

And yes, Houghten is a great writer.

(Better, Funnier) EG, Sure, I agree that I didn't love that one broadcast. I agree with you on your points there. Plenty of people were making those points, though, so I went with the edification part. Make the constructive criticism a real Positive Sandwich, if you will.

Amazed how many are still hung up on this.
I agree. I didn't notice the exchange at the time, other than from egriz. I didn't follow or get the specifics. Saw that some pounded Colter. I like Colter. His stuff is good or very good, and he's a good guy. Don't understand the constant complaints, but, whatever, it's the internet, a message board and egriz. I will always support Colter.
