Big Sky Tie-Breakers:
1) Head to Head
2) Common Conference Opponents
3) Common Conference Opponents played as Non-Conference Games
4) Common Non-Conference Opponents
5) Sagarin Ratings
A 4-way tie at 7-1 would come down to Sagarin ratings because the three common opponents are PSU, UND, and UCD - which all four would be 3-0 against.
Current Sagarin:
1) MSU - 5th
2) CP - 6th
3) EWU - 7th
4) NAU - 12th
What a mess ...
Ditto....and it gets more confusing as one tries to analyze it.
Since CP-EWU is non-conference, if NAU losses to Cal Poly and EWU, Cal Poly, and MSU win out their remaining conference schedules then all four would be 7-1 BSC.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
NAU:
- would be 0-1 head-to-head against the top 4 co-champs (assuming NAU < CP)
CP:
-could be 2-0 or 1-1, depending on result of CP-EWU
EWU:
-could be 2-0 or 1-1, depending on result of CP-EWU
MSU:
-is 0-1 (MSU < EWU)
NAU could just do everyone a favor and just win out.
Regardless, I think all four of these teams get into the playoffs as:
-Cal Poly already has 7 D-I wins (with FBS win)
-NAU just needs 1 of 3 (ISU, SUU, CP) to reach 7 D-I wins (with FBS win)
-EWU just needs 1 of 3 (CP, UC Davis, PSU) to reach 7 D-I wins (with FBS win)
-MSU just needs 1 of 3 (Sac State, PSU, UM) to reach 7 D-I wins
And Sac State just needs 1 of 2 (MSU, UC Davis) to reach 7 D-I wins (with FBS win), so they could be able to get in, as well.
