Love Brady, love watching him sling the rock....but I'll take that bet for any amount of money. No way Griz QB Brady Gustafson goes in the first three rounds of the NFL draft. Much more likely he's a UDFA.
You're not observant at all.Atlanta Griz1 said:AZGrizFan said:griz5700 said:Bet anyone $300 Brady goes in the first 3 rounds. Easy $.

Do you also love watching him miss open receivers on swing passes, and overthrowing wide open receivers in the middle of the field?

Brady throws VERY well over the middle and deep routes outside the hash marks.
He REALLY struggles on short routes outside the hash marks.
Ok show me some film with proof of that Atlanta. I'm curious. I watched the last game so I saw two picks that fit my description.Atlanta Griz1 said:brewskis said:You're not observant at all.Atlanta Griz1 said:AZGrizFan said::lol:

Yeah? 7 of his 9 interceptions were on deeper routes, most of them caused by overthrows.

In fact, those are some of the exact reasons WHY I think he ends up going the UDFA route instead of getting drafted, so I'm not sure what your point is. I've watched many, many NFL QB's making 7 figures do those exact same things....so, yeah, I do enjoy watching Brady play. For free. In a Griz uniform.
PlayerRep said:Atl, yes, you are correct that your memory is not accurate, but you are also correct that BG threw a number of picks over the middle as you mentioned. I believe all of his picks in the second game, 3? of them, were over the middle and long. He had been injured a bit against NDSU, and was having trouble stepping up and following through, so, at least as of after that game, the view of the coaches was that the injury had contributed to those picks. You may be correct that BG has more of his share of bad throws in that area than he should, even when not injured. I don't know.

You are delusional if you think he has NFL skills. Keep enjoying his overthrows and 57% completion percentage, even though he should complete 70% because Stitt's offense features the bubble screen 15 times a game.
Mid-season, when assessing the various QBs, I noted that the "stats' showed that Brady was overthrowing with consistency on long passes, and had dropped his distance passing average by more than 50% in completed passes, which told me that the coach was trying to avoid those long throws. The problem then was increased interceptions or flubs, not fewer.Atlanta Griz1 said:PlayerRep said:Atl, yes, you are correct that your memory is not accurate, but you are also correct that BG threw a number of picks over the middle as you mentioned. NFL QBs are taught to miss low rather than high. I would think that an offensive genius like Stitt teaches Brady the same. Whether he can do it or not is another matter.
PlayerRep said:Here are BG's stats. In just under 6.5 games, he threw 9 picks. 7 were in 2 games: CP and the 2d NDSU game. Excuding Liberty (got hurt in 2d q) and 2d NDSU, and the 2 CP picks, his stats actually look quite good. 454, 353, 266, 353, and 295 yards. A pretty good completion percentage. Only 2 picks. In the 4 better games, his efficiency ratings are: 135, 134, 164, and 142. The CP picks, or some of them, may be explainable by the injury. NDSU may be explainable by the fact that NDSU was a very good team, with a great defense, and they were coming after him hard. Granted, hee more than flinched, but he kept battling and throwing (and that led to more picks). I'm not saying this scenario is valid; I'm just offering it as a possible explanation.

The injury happened AFTER the Cal Poly game....in the Liberty game.
