Could Bobby Head to UW

Nobody is coming to steal Bobby. He has already taken his shot at the big time and we all know how that worked out. He has found a level and a program where he can be successful and he can continue with his campaign for RTD. Not a darn thing wrong with that.

I can't imagine too many p5 football programs would be interested in bringing in a guy from the fcs that is almost 60 years old to be their head coach, maybe if he was closer to 50 it might be a better possibility.

Bobby and Coach Phenicie were just here at CFHS 30 minutes ago visiting recent signee Cody Schweikert.

That was the UNLV scenario.

I see a few mention the possibility of Bobby moving on to another (larger) college. Has anyone mention that he may go to the NFL. At least some of the football players have mentioned that they "heard" he is headed to some NFL team as a special teams coach.....

San Diego St worked out well enough for him that they asked him to return a year later as head coach, with a long-term 7 figure contract.

Lol. UNLV <> “Big Time”. He’s succeeded everywhere he went. Including UNLV’s first bowl game in decades.

Just had to explain this to my little brother recently. Did he win a national title there? Nah. But go look at their seasons before him and every season since. There are some clear trend lines.

I must be mistaken...I thought UNLV fired him.

"There are two kinds of coaches - those who have been fired and those who haven't been fired yet. That's kind of like prostate cancer. Every man will have it if he lives long enough". Bobby Bowden

"He succeeded everywhere he went"...but then UNLV fired him.
I'm just pointing out that Bobby hasn't succeeded anywhere like he's succeeded in his two stints as the Griz coach. And at the sake of redundancy...there's not a darn thing wrong with that.

And as far as saying he was successful at UNLV because they played in a bowl game...there are 43 FBS bowl games. Theoretically you can be the 86th best FBS team in the country and still make it to a bowl game. Just saying.

Minnesota golden gophers in the regular season went 3-6 in the big ten conference and 6-7 including a bowl victory, so to say going to a bowl game means something theses days unless you are in the college bowl playoffs don't mean poop.

How does that compare to teams who don't make a bowl game? Isn't that the point? Just sayin.

What's your point?

At home, too. Just got gut-punched eliminated because they weren’t good enough. Couldn’t defend the home field.

Not even close.

Minnesota golden gophers football with the exception of two years since 1960 haven't won 10 games in a season, let that sink in for a hot second..
