Could Bobby Head to UW
How does that compare to teams who don't make a bowl game? Isn't that the point? Just sayin.
The point is you and others keep pushing the narrative that Bobby was successful at UNLV because they went to a meaningless bowl game. The fact is he got fired for lack of success regardless of that bowl appearance.

If his record here was the same as his record at UNLV he would most certainly not be considered successful nor would he have a job. Let me say it again and please read it slowly so y6u might comprehend it this time. Bobby has found a level and a program where he can consistently be successful and there's not a darn thing wrong with that. Just saying, AGAIN.

Not even close.

Minnesota golden gophers football with the exception of two years since 1960 haven't won 10 games in a season, let that sink in for a hot second..

Kinda sounds like the bobcats other than a few recent years.. same program obv

Honestly, there are a lot of parallels. Both have the tradition of being meh.

Just went and checked. Up until 2020, the Cats had only ever won ten games in a season 3 times. In their entire history. So they may want to consider laying off Minnesota for only having 1 season with that many wins. Just saying.

Edit -- I misread him. The Gophers have done it twice. So yea, same program basically.

I think everyone is responding to you with the impression that you are a Cats fan, are you not? It seems like you are here to defend them and take some shots at the Griz program or Hauck here and there, while trying to be subtle about it.

Show me where I have taken any shots at hauck or the program.

Interesting non-denial. I am not going to go comb through your every post, but off the top of my head you posted an SI article about the "Top FCS Offensive players" and your words were something like "Interesting to see all the local players on here," and it had a bunch of Bobcats and no Griz. I remember that in particular, and you just always seem to refer to the Griz and Griz fans as "you guys" instead of "us" or "we," so it was the impression I got. I think from the tone of people replying to you, I'm not the only one under that impression.

Regardless, I was responding to the comparison that others made with actual numbers. Up until 2020 the Cats had only won ten games three times in their history. That was all.

And in that same thread crunchgriz posted an article from SI.that posted another list of players from the defense and no griz were on that list either. Do you have a problem with him also?

just find it curious of all teams in college football you choose to pick the bobcats only.

Congrats griz on an outstanding season. As a very long term observer of griz athletics with multiple life-long griz athlete friends, plus family and staff who are um alumni, this season 100% felt like a legit "return to dominance" in that there was undeniable swagger, confidence and curb stomping. Hadn't seen that in years. May my sadness and jealousy be a gift to griz nation.

Two takes on Bobby moving on:
(A) He retires on his terms - and his 'term' just got a lot longer after this season. Staying cements him a legit UM and State of Montana legend, which he already is. UM will be renamed Hauck U and he'll be fueled by the respect and dignity of griz nation and the jealousy and hatred from Cat fans like me for the rest of his life. If you're Bobby, what could be better?
2: He only leaves when he sees a trajectory for Robby to take over as DC, head coach or some other solid position in UM athletics. Blah blah blah on exaggerated stats and past players being pissed: the part I appreciated was seeing how a father loves and believes in his son and wants the best for him. I imagine he feels the same way now and wants to see Robby move up the ranks and be part of the family history/dynasty of football dominance at UM.

He ain't going anywhere. UM's bet on bringing him back just hit the jackpot and griz football will be rolling for years to come. I hated just typing that.

It was your caption that I took as mocking the Griz, not the fact that you posted an article. Look, I don't care if you are a bobcats fan, or of anywhere else. My nephew was a bobcat on scholarship. My niece was a bobcat not on scholarship. I've gotten along great on here with a couple of cats fans. Still miss Catsrback a bit.

I wasn't attacking you, just answering your question about why people are bringing up the Cats. Your posting negatively towards the griz, and I remember one (very rightful) compliment you were giving Mellot in his defense. That leaves an impression, and I'm not trying to insult you. Just telling you why.

As for why not other teams, most Dakota fans I talked to weren't really taking shots at the Griz, but I also don't read game day threads, so I'm sure I miss plenty in there.

Please be careful Hoops...your diminished capacity is showing. Try reading the thread again instead of trying to argue with everything a say. I was initially responding to another poster until you jumped in to make this thread about you.

You are the one who needs to learn how to read and write. This is what I was responding to: "The point is you and others keep pushing the narrative that Bobby was successful at UNLV because they went to a meaningless bowl game."

Again, who has said Bobby was successful at UNLV? I certainly never said that. So, you are the one who needs to be careful.

Just relax, take a couple of deep breaths and try to find another thread you can hijack and make about you.

I asked you a question based on what you posted. You apparently are unwilling to answer it and your post. No one has informed the board better on what Bobby is going than I have. Just say thanks and step aside.

As usual, you are giving yourself way too much credit. The board ran just fine when you were handed a much deserved timeout. I hope you learned your lesson.

The board lacked good info when I was gone. I hope the mods learned a lesson.

Now answer the question.

Ditto with the Gophers.
