Could Bobby Head to UW

Their fans would riot. They'll be looking for a sitting FBS head coach at a minimum.
I've been led to believe that all the cities on the West Coast and probably Minneapolis are in a constant state of riot anyway, so would anyone even notice?

For sure. I know in my west coast city, I had to dodge a bunch of riots tonight walking my daughter and her friend to the batting cages and Baskin Robins afterward. It was madness. Turns out the riots were some kids walking dogs on skateboards, but who knows what they were planning?

Seriously, I don't know how Udub will even interview a replacement, what with the riots, and the fires, and the thousands of druggies on every corner. Oh wait. None of that is real, so maybe they'll be okay after all???

Like #2 in the nation? Silly fan base.

They were lighting in a bottle this year. Would have dropped off in a major way even if DeBoer would have stayed. They have been a mostly irrelevant program for the last 20 years. Just won their first game in January since the early 2000s.

They are really effed now. The entire two deep is gone either by eligibility, NFL or the portal. And they play a B1G schedule next season. Woof

Maybe they wouldn't want Bobby, but I don't think they'd riot. One of the top UW athletic/football donors is one of Bobby's best friends too. And he coached there previously. And he coached the Griz team who beat UW a couple years ago.

As someone who is intimately familiar with their fan base, they’d riot. They are talking about replacing DeBoer with Klieman, Fisch, Leipold, Drinkwitz, etc. no way their fans would be on board with an FCS head coach even if he’s coached there before. They think they’re above it. They think they’re a top FBS program.

I am more familiar with their fan base.

I doubt that.

Quite relevant in the Peterson and DeBour years. 80-29.

They just won their first January bowl game since 2000 and were the Pac 10/12 whipping boy for a span of about 10 years that included a winless season. They have had some decent seasons, but non that ended in any real success until this past season. And they are absolutely screwed now. Like under .500 might lose to an FCS team screwed. In the last 20 years they were like the 6th most relevant team in their conference over that period.

They are correct in all aspects.

For the record...Bobby Hauck is not going anywhere but on the sidelines for the Grizzlies in 2024!

I live here and talk w some of their fans/alum daily. They wouldn’t riot, per se, but they do think they’re a top FBS program (which they are this season). The sports writers wouldn’t have nice things to say. And some donors would scoff.
I don’t think he’s in the running for the job, anyway.
But now that they’re going to the new conference, and will get less $$ at first, I suspect the Huskies are going to settle back down to earth, and be relatively irrelevant for some time to come (unless they hire their OC as HC, in which case, bets are off).

riots 24-7 here, too. such a sad state of affairs. but once the clouds creep in and the air cools down, all the rioters seem to leave from the beach. dunno where they go.

DeBoer’s head coaching experience was 12-6 at Fresno St. in 1.5 years. 5 very successful years at NAIA Sioux Falls. Was there a riot when he was hired by UW. I think he had had only 11 years coaching in ncaa football.

My wife and I each have 2 siblings who lives in the Seattle area and are huge Husky fans. A dozen of them were in Houston. Again, one of the top donors to UW athletics/football is one of Bobby's best friends.

As you know, no one has suggested that BH was in the running, and certainly not me. My focus has been on whether there would be a riot.

DeBoer didn't have many big tickets for getting the job, and look how good he was and where he is today. This post is not directed GG.
