Consistency = not hiring a new football coach every other year. We haven't had consistency since Bobby left, which is why we haven't won squat since 2011. Patience is lost on many fans.

That's just dumb. The point is that "consistency" and "patience" are not necessarily useful tools or metrics to build a successful program but can, in fact, be harbingers of failure. Engstrom has been consistent. The Board of Regents has been patient.AZGrizFan said:Is that your prediction? But you have to admire consistency and patience. That's how they built that impressive record.HelenaHandBasket said:If it is, then Stitt is the least of the problems at hand.UMGriz75 said:They ended up 1-7. Is that our goal?
True enough, they managed two conference championships in 15 years. They could not have done that without Bob Stitt. It is a feat still unmatched in all of college football. And I am sure he will do much better at the DI level.brewskis said:Stitt built CSM. They would have nothing without him.

Creating lasting cultures of failure do not make those characteristics virtues, no matter how much you want to "bet" on it. Bet on Engstrom if you are so gung ho. I'll take that bet.

It is true that humor and psychosis are correlated. I appreciate the affirmation of my point.grizindabox said:....I laughed......UMGriz75 said:Perhaps you think you are funny? :roll:AZGrizFan said:You're like the proverbial turd in the punch bowl. Have you NO sense of humor?

Inspector Griz said:Well Stitt had a pretty long stay at CSM. That said he had several recruiting classes in his belt but did not have that great of record and playoff history. Seems to me whom ever is coaching CSM currently is getting a better performance out of some of Stitts recruits.

Not really. They've been playing football since 1909 (actually 1888 as I went and looked it up) if I recall. John Wristen at CSU-Pueblo is the one that built a team up from nothing (as in NO football team)....and actually won a National Championship in 2014, just a mere 7 years after starting from scratch in 2008. From no team on the field to a NC is by far more impressive than anything Stitt has done.
And I'm not a Stitt hater, just setting the record straight. Wristen was not seriously considered for the Griz job because of a prior domestic incident where he assumed responsibility, and moved on. CSUP forgave him, and hired him. Damn good thing they did. IMO he is far the superior coach of Stitt though.

Acceptance rates for CSM and CSU-Pueblo:
CSU-Pueblo: 96% (2016)
CSM: 38% (2016)
Easy to build a football team when you have that high of an acceptance rate.

Gregg Brandon.....started his college coaching career at Weber in the early 80s. Prior to the CSM job, he was OC at Wyoming, and then New Mexico State.
It's just that easy!get'em_griz said:Easy to build a football team when you have that high of an acceptance rate.
