I'll remember this post after the North Dakota game .. just in case they raw dog Tully and Hermanson again.. then we'll see if we're praising Gregorak.

No problem with Tripp playing ST. Being a capable ST player will help him out while he's trying to build a career in the NFL. It's just one play and you really aren't any more likely to get injured in covering kicks than you are running into OL and RBs.

Seriously? Do you really think you are "aren't any more likely to get injured in covering kicks than you are running into OL and RBs". Don't really know what to say here. Its a play that is widley considered to be the single most violant play in the game. Typically can be handled by second teamers and not your stars. NFL coaches don't need to see your college game tape to see if you can run down the field 100 mph and crash into shit. He was out there all game... What play was it that he was down on the field? Was it on one of the 45 defensive snaps or was it on one of the 6 kickoffs?

I hope Tripp doesn't continue on the kickoff team. Aggressive play combined with the occasional cheap block can lead to injury. This sounds like something Tripp may have requested or suggested, as opposed to the coaches putting him on the kickoff team. On the other hand, with his size, speed and tackling ability, I can see how Tripp would be very good at this.

Colt Anderson and Chase Reynolds both played ST as seniors. If a guy wants a shot in the NFL (if you're from Montana) you better know how to play 'em.. might be your foot in the door to a career. Don't recall of Jimmy or Shann played ST or not.

Tripp went down on a punt in the 3rd quarter but it looked to me like he might have cramped up. I think that was the one when the trainers were streching his leg. I do not remember Tripp being in on kickoffs.

I do. I played both LB and ST coverage units. I never felt any more vulnerable to injury covering kicks. Though most players don't think that way. Football is a violent game and LB is one of the most violent positions. Engaging with OL and RBs and getting buckled into a scrum creates more chances for injury than running down field in my opinion. STs might offer more chances for concussions but nothing else.

I've been out of the country until now. I need to respond about the coaching complaints etc.

I did complain about the coaching last season. I did mention my dislike to Delaney, Gregorak and a coach no longer with us. All up front face to face. All in a rather good natured way. Each admitted they needed to do better etc.

I did visit with most of the coaches during the pre season and I still was concerned even though they all seemed confident and mentioned they had good players and they would look good this season.

I left the next day and could only feel very happy for all the coaches and players. I have a feeling we could go all the way this year.....I mean it .....All the way.

Coaches are doing an excellent job and I have faith in them and will visit with them next week and express my feelings. All the way!
