Coach Critics--What Are Your Complaints After this Game?

There is a solution to the lack of people back in their seats after the half, but it's easier said than done. Allow beer sales throughout the stadium not just in the club.
This. And it would bring in a lot of revenue.

And if they're worried about controlling who can buy beer, give everybody who can drink wrist bands. Such an easy solution.

For a significant number of season ticket holders Griz games are just an excuse for attending the state's biggest cocktail party. They really couldn't care less about the competition or the score...

For those that are there for that. Donate your damn tickets to kids that will make noise, or avid football fans. That way everyone wins. Seriously is disappointing, our team cannot rely on our fans for the 3rd quarter.

What will our team ever do without being able to rely on fans for the first possession of the second half

I'm sure all of our players are just ready to give up when they see the empty seats.

Fuck I hate agreeing with you..and, I don't even leave the stadium at halftime. I am a man who believes in unadulterated debauchery, but I take my football more serious. And, I have a lucky flask..

I do all of those things, and I'm never in my seats at the start of the 3rd. I guess I'm a bad fan who should donate my tickets to the Poverello Center. I don't believe you guys will be telling anyone what they can and can't do with the tickets.. we enjoy the games all the same.. I don't even go there to "be seen." I'm sure my Lot P friends would say they'd rather not see me either. ;)

By the time you stand in line to take a leak, drink a couple of beers and maybe eat something the 3rd quarter has already started..

Most Griz fans would agree that we pride ourselves on our tailgate culture, but to expect those hundreds of people in charge of tailgates to wait until Halftime, go outside, unpack everything, cook/warm up food, serve said food and drinks to guests, clean up food, pack it back away, and make it back into their seats in 20 minutes just isn't realistic, especially in a bigger tailgate.

The guys that run our tailgate always leave a few minutes early and come back a bit late, but they're certainly not bad fans, and they cheer just as hard as anyone else.

And honestly, I think given the choice between losing the halftime tailgates with great fan interaction, and gaining beer sales and everyone in the stadium for the second half kickoff, I and I assume many others would choose the former.

We're not going to lose the game between 15:00 and 10:00 in the third quarter because the crowd isn't there.

What are your complaints about the coaches so far this year?

Offensive game plan? Defensive game plan? Play-calling? Headset wearing? Age? Discipline of players? Interaction with the press? Not running up the score?

Not much to complain about, since athletes dominated the game both sides of the ball, my only complaint would be turning the ball over on downs in the first qtr, instead of kicking the field goal.

It turn out to mean nothing, since the athletes dominated, although at that point in the game, three point might have looked good at the end of the game. Always put points on the board when available, against very good teams.

Not a moral booster for Linder.

Well played game and plan, hope the rest of the season, mirrors Saturdays, performance

I said it before, I feel this group of athletes will make coaches look good, and this week it made the coaches look very good.

One more thing, JJ was cramping up in the 4th qtr. I thought maybe half way threw the 4th qtr, it might have been good experience for the #2 QB to get some game time against a team like Appy.

Also I believe that it is an inherit problem for coach Delaney and headphones, amd I have mentioned it to him, and he thought it funny also.

I actually liked that they went for it. They weren't going to settle.

However, we got robbed on the spot of the 3rd down play. I forgot which player got the ball, but he definitely fell forward and was down right at the first down, and the line judge marked it a good two yards back. Happened right in front of us.

That is why my ass is in the stands and not walking the sidelines, adjusting my headphones, I take the three points, and walk away with something instead of nothing from a bad spot of the ball.

I liked the call to go for it. Showed confidence in the offense. But, I can see how it could have an impact on a kicker's pysche. Especially one that is (or should be) fighting for his job.

How about a play action pass on a fourth and one, getting a little old banging it up the middle and getting stopped. I know that we are only 0/1 this year, but we were terrible last year.

But these are the same peeps you think will financially pitch in for the move up right? ;)

I don't see that anyone has mentioned the two calls early in the third where it was 2nd and 25 and we called a run for 2 then followed it up with what looked like the same play on 3rd so we could punt. Thought a throw down the field was in order on both plays. Especially with the way we came out flat at the half. I was pleasantly surprised that JJ had over 200 yards passing. I really didn't think he threw very often. The offense doesn't seem to play to his strengths but that might have been the game plan to come out and control the clock. I was excited to see Van play and was not disappointed. What a get for the Griz! The D had some occasional sloppy tackling but I'm sure that will improve with more games. Overall, I thought they played one hell of a game.

Much of the coaching criticism comes from people who have very little knowledge of the game. There were a few obvious mistakes made last year, but by and large, these coaches know 10000% more about the game than any of these arm-chair coaches pretend to know. It's frustrating reading this board and hearing people complaining about the coaching when they clearly don't understand what they are talking about and are making arguments that are completely false.

Look for the 'Mick Delaney to return for 2013' or 'Delaney wants 2 or 3 more years' threads. I'm not sure those were the exact titles, but you'll find a ton of the critics there.

How can anyone find creditability in your statement, considering you are sounding more, and more like "the Player".

This is a sports blog, opinions good or bad are all considered, cheerleaders wear short skirts, and carry pom poms, what category fits you best, and who wants to see "the Player" in a short skirt.
